In years past we used to be able to catch fish in 10-12 ft early season like this. But for the last 5-6 years that seems to be non-existent. So 24-25 ft is where we tend to start then move out deeper in a few weeks.

Crazy,  ya you'd think they'd be hanging around structure yet with active fish being shallower.  But then again I fish prairie lakes. Good luck.

afternoon all, made it back from Monticello about about an hour ago..  a good time was had by all!!! I got a real nice Dewalt cordless chainsaw for Christmas!!!  that is really going to come in handy..  going to relax the rest of the day too!!!

Mornin all, 7 here & on our way to 25, they're sayin. Some snow, < 1", later today again. Got my yearly checkup on Thursday, so I've been out to the hospital already to get the lab work done. Not very busy, so I was done by 7:15. Some nasty forecasts for this weekend, 5-9 " of snow with 50 mph winds Thursday night & Friday. Hope they're wrong.............. again. 'Bout it here, have a good 1.

Mornin' comrades! -1 overnite & 5 above at choretime,  heading for a high in the upper teens. Some snow on tap later this afternoon. Should plop a couple more round bales in the lot altho there was still more left in their mangers than anticipated this a.m. Hafta see. Need to make a run to town for some errands this forenoon.

Morning boys.  Slept in today and it felt great.  We have 0 here now.  Don't think it is too windy though.  I will find out when I go grain the horses and build a fire in the garage.  Till then I will just enjoy my coffee and have breakfast.  Mayhaps a couple of medium eggs with toast and sausage links.  Those mediums are cute little things.  I usually get extra large but not paying that much.  I will wait till they have a glut of them and the price goes down.     That is some nasty weather for you down there Gunner.  Hope it melts fast.  Well take her sleazy boys.

2 above here in International Falls, kinda hazy outside. Sun popped through for a while yesterday and it sure was pretty with all the clean snow around.

Will run into town today and then pay some bills. Then i'm staying in the house till next week or until it warms up again. Tonight I will do a little praying the Packers get pounded on and thats about it for the day.

Ya it's gonna get fugley over the next few days. I ran in 4 wheel to work 3 mornings last week what's another.  I bet the fella from Rochester is on his roof already waiting to swat at the flakes so they don't build up..lol.

How about Rebs?  Now it looks like we are in a snow incident tonight for about 3" and in a couple of days where I hope we only get 3".  Surprises me with it so cold out.

Morning boys.  -9 here now.  Probably do a little snow cleanup today.  Will see once it gets light out.  I see they are getting live Maine lobsters here at the grocery store on the 30th.  $19.95 ea.  Will get my name on the list for a couple of them.  Not much else going on and that is ok.  Later boys.

Mornin boys, we have 1* & shootin for 7* later. The snow started earlier than predicted yday, ~ 2:30, & lasted a little longer than I anticipated but they're sayin it was still < 1". Up to 4" in the next 48 hrs though. The WSW now runs from 12 AM Thursday- 6 AM Saturday & 4-6" for us in that. Will do my errands today too. Not much else now, hopin your Tuesday's a good 1.

Mornin' comrades! -3 at choretime for a high around 3 above. About 1.3" of snow since yesterday afternoon at the ranch. Real fluffy stuff so combined with the 7" that was already in place, once snowmagedon arrives we should be in for a real treat out here in the land of rocks and cows. Getting ready for it. Pitched the remaining hay out of the round bale feeders into some smaller mangers so I can plop some fresh round bales in place. About froze my fingers on the pitchfork but got 'er done. Will back the screening wagon in place so I don't have to fill buckets outside in a blizzard. Then I better mail glenn's Christmas present. Lucky for him it should be frozen & won't drip much.

Good Morning! Off work until the 24th and the drive to Kato might be iffy even then. Time will tell. Cleaned up a little snow here and dumped a snow bucket full of firewood in the shop. I also got the birdies fed suet, sunflower seeds and corn. Going to head to town and fill the truck with gas and a 6 gallon can too. Be Good.
