Still kickin' down here. 48* and everything down here in Swampville is soggo-riffic.  2 1/2" in the rain gauge this am, to add to the 1" from couple days ago. Went out last nite after the big blow and picked up the yard and front steps....birch trees sure like losing branches. Free trim courtesy of the wind. Buckets over the 'mato's saved 'em from the storm. Ground musta dried out good last couple weeks, sump pump isn't running after all that rain......odd. I'm gonna treat myself to sunnyside up eggs, 3 pieces of thick sliced bacon, and toast with home-made rhubarb jam..   Have a good pre-Friday, guys.

Morning all. TGIF!! A nice bright frosty morning to start the day today. Had 33* this morning when I got up. Hoping the rain holds off long enough tomorrow to get a load of firewood cut. Sounds like rain tomorrow afternoon thru Monday. Then I guess it is supposed to warm up some. Well off to another exciting day. Have a good one all!

Morning JB and everyone else.  It is 28 on this side of  Paradise.  Unreal.  Glad we procrastinate about gardening here...  Well nice that it is Fri but I work tomorrow so takes some of the punch out of it.  Maybe some rain here tomorrow as Jb said.  Beautiful calm morning here and a little fog on the river.  Man would I like to get in the boat but I will stay on task and head in to work...  Got a pork oin on sale the other day.  Think I may smome a chunk of it on Sunday.  Maybe freeze the rest or put in Pops Brine.

Morning gang, we had 40* to start our day. Not even close to the 30-35* that Bemidji was saying with their frost warning. It made 65* here yesterday, about the same for today, which was warmer than they were predicting. We got the new pump for down to the lake & think it's ready to go. A little more mowing to do today as it's kind of long in spots. I'll probably throw the waders on & push the lift out a bit more, along with setting the foot valve for the new pump out farther. A couple other little things down at the dock to tidy up as well. Hope everything goes well as I would like to get out & wet a line :fish2: by mid to late afternoon. Hope you all enjoy the nice weather today, as it looks like it's the last of it until early next week.

LPS I got 5 boneless loins in the brine right now for my brother.  Probably smoke them Wend. or Thurs.  Going to cut the grass today before it rains again tomorrow.  Maybe put some fertilizer down also.  What I want to do is to go do more fishing.  Plan to go and it's the weather or something else comes up like my wife's van needs to go in the shop on Monday and she will need my truck.  Want to go to Grindstone for some trout and crappies.  good luck

A balmy 42 here at choretime after I climbed out the window. A far cry from the 89 we had for a high on Sunday. Supposed to be a bunch of drizzle today and a high of 49. My farmer math tells me that's a 40 degree swing in high temperatures. Looks like weaning day may finally be upon us Sunday. Supposed to rain manaƱa with the possibility of a nap breaking out in the afternoon. Increased chances if Mrs. Cheviot discovers the key to the deadbolt on the bedroom tonight. Maybe if I grill a bunch of stuff it will subdue her...

Had to bust out the long sleeves again this morning.  Had an appointment at 8:00 this morning to look at a house for a 2nd showing - we've been getting ready for it for a long time - even though you never feel ready.  But we've outgrown our starter house with our two kids and need a little more room. It's been a goal to move out-of-town and try to get a little land, but the fact is that in-town is more convenient for our kids/sports, etc. Bottom line we need MUCH more room than we have now.  Perhaps after they graduate high school, we downsize and move it into the country. Offer is going in today, wish us luck!

Good afternoon...managed to get movin' in the 44* air this am. Snuck out before between showers before "the rain" was supposed to hit and got some groceries. Still hadn't rained yet when I got back, and the back yard was getting long, and it was dry, so I hopped on the red rocket and got that mowed down before the monsoon started in again.  Sump pump kicked in yday and been puking all day. Wedder moiorjits say lots more rain coming for Swampville this weekend. Good weekend to just kick back and pound a few cold ones down. Unfortunately, it'll have to be Pepsi's or some other pop.....I'd kill for a cold longneck.   :undecided:

Morning gents, I wish I could sleep in just one day. Well it's 60 here to start the day  at 4:00am, just sitting out on the porch having the morning smoke and coffee. It is nice and quiet and peaceful at this time of the day, The birds aren't even up making noise yet. It'll be in the mid 70's today the only thing going on is a 11:00 tee time and an afternoon at the 19th hole for drinks and lunch if no one calls off today. Y'all have a great day.
if you kick me when I'm down you better pray I don't get up.

Sounds like a fun day Coffee...   I go back to my last post and then read them up to present in this thread so I stay current.  I am already smiling due to Boar and his vocabulary.  Thanks Boar, good to smile right away in the morning.  The vood luck or whatever it was I am talking about.  lol  Well I work today and so of course would have loved to sleep late.  Made some strong coffee and am having the Cherrios now.  Looking like rain here too but I think it will be later in the day.  I went down the driveway to see if I could find some asparagus to pick last night to go with our ribeye on the new infrared grill (which I love) and only found one spear.  I cut it and it was real soft. ????  Then I thought of the 28 degrees we had the other night.  I think it froze.  Darn....  The others have not come up yet.  I hope they do...  Play hard today!!!
