Odd. It is like a morgue around here today. Spraying is largely done with the exception of a few isolated waterhemp and giant ragweed issues. Soybean aphids while present are nowhere near treatable levels. Had a couple calls but only one of those had anything to do with business. Kinda like it for a change after a brutal spring and early summer.  :happy1: Wife came back from her trip to Michigan. She's tired but at least she's cranky. She did however marvel at my prowess in the garden over the weekend so threatened to take me right then and there. I asked her what would the neighbor's think?  :whistling: On another front, seem to be having an issue with something monkeying with my bird feeding operation. Noticed not long ago that there would be ear corn left on the feeder when I'd go to bed and by morning it would magically disappear. This morning in addition to the corn missing, the oriole nectar feeder was knocked down. Thinking it's deer although they haven't chewed on anything in the small garden where it's handy. Another possibility is raccoons and yet another thought is flying squirrels. Tempting to get a game camera with my Cabela's points although I've got my eyes on another Glock. That would probably solve a lot more problems.  ;)

When that happens in my yard, a live trap hotel california usually shows it to be racoons, but sometimes possums.

Golden Malrin and coke up in the tree away from dogs is another possible solution.

Good morning to all. A quick question? On the right you have recent. How can you backtrack from there?
Well getting back to the morning. had some boat issue this past week. The big Honda 225 idled great, fired right up but when you hit the throttle no power. Talked to Honda dealer last week and they said I could not talk to mechanic as he could not determine the problem and I would have to
bring it in? Did new fuel filter and no better. Talked to my good friend Jake and he said plugs . He had the same issue with a evenrude? Called Honda 17.50 a plug. Stopped at O'rylies in Bemidji and the gentlemen was great. He had to cross refrence a bit, but in the end found the same plug NGK. 10 dollars a piece. Put the new plugs in dropped her in the water and she runs like a new boat Imagine That. The boats name is Imagine That. Wow what a relief. Honda shop rate is 90 a hour. I make 10 a hour so you do the math lol.
back to the grind today after a nice 4 day weekend with good friends. Boar and his family camped down at the lake this past weekend. I missed out on the badminton but maybe next time. They swam , they went for a nature walk, barbequed, fished off the dock on the tamarac river enjoyed a couple killer red lake sunsets and had a couple nice camp fires.  Me and a buddy made a video Monday picking berries and I thought it was hilarious. Makes me laugh every time I watch it. 5 tries and we gave up. The bloopers and conversation . maybe you had to be  there but man was it funny while we were doing it. I'll try and sneak in 9 holes of golf after work as one of the perks working at a golf course is free golf.  Both cabins are wide open the rest of the summer so I have to come up with away of getting a few fishermen up here? Half price? two free rounds of golf with cart if you stay two nights. Anybody? anybody?

Morning all.  Well I finally got the food plot done yesterday.  i didn't burn it so there is dead grass residue there but I disced for a couple of hours and then seeded.  i then dragged it with the drag teeth up so it just was like pulling the 4 pipes across the dead stuff to knock the seed to the ground.  At least I hope that is what happened.  It then clouded up and sprinkle, heavy at times for maybe an hour.  We will see!!!

Back to the grind today.  Sure had a nice long weekend.  Need to mow tonight.  Too bad for the folks south of us in the state.  Lots of cleanup going on there today.. Looked like a hurricane on the news this morning.  2" hail in Kandiohi County.  Noone needs that.  Seems like I have heard some of our brethern are from around there.

We are having such a good time with our new camper that the wife is making a reservation for us to go to the Lasalle rec. Area in a few weeks.  I think it is kind of a newer campgrounds.  It is on the deepest inland lake in MN.  We won't be bringing a boat anyway.  Just camping and relaxing.  And cooking...

Well see ya all later.

And Deadeye you asked for an update on the Plotmaster.  The one I borrowed is the 400 which is 4' wide.  I guess it did work pretty well.  I have heavy clay type of soil here.  It is hard to work up.  It still seemed a little gummy even after drying for days.  It took a few passes and then I could finally see I was cutting in and making something happen.  I had to go in circles to get it to rip the sod up better.  This ground hasnt been plowed and worked up for 20 years I bet.  It is a heavy machine and that is good I needed that weight.  I don't think just a light disc would have done much...  It was real hot here yesterday and just as I was getting done discing the lot light came on on my 2005 Grizzly 660.  It cooled down quickly though.  I used a hand seeder and not the one on the PM.  The one on the PM is for oats or wheat kind of seeds.  This tiny seed I used would have run right out of it.  So all in all it was a prettty good machine.

Morning all. Just another day in paradise, work that is. Not much new here. Got some gravel hauled over the weekend. Getting ready to pour a concrete patio. Did manage to fish for a few hours on the 4th in the afternoon. Apparently luck was not on our side that day.
Have a good one.

Good morning.   The power came on at about 2am.  It seemed like every light in the house was on.   No hail here just some strong winds and maybe an inch of rain.   When I get home I'll clean up the garden a bit and fix the shed.

Mornin'! .63" of rain last night and relatively little damage from the strong winds. Guy who has a windmill east of town said it shut down twice last night. It shuts down when winds exceed 55 mph. With the garden all weeded to within an inch of its life and the tomato cages on was pleased to see how nice it looked. Indian corn that had been leaned at a 45 degree angle Thursday was standing straight as a soldier this a.m. Sounds like more on tap for tonight.

Morning.  Well I am a little bummed today.  On our local shop and swap yesterday I saw a 2013 Polaris 500 HD Camo with 134 miles on it.  Obviously it is cherry.  It had been on for 12 hours.  I asked if she still had it and she said yes.  I thought about it for an hour wondering what her low price would be.  Then I asked if I could come and look at it last night and she said someone else just got in line first. Darn.  I should have just said right away I'll take it.  Well this guy is checking with his bank today.  I am next if his financing does not go well.  I don't wish bad for him but I wish for good for me.    :happy1:  He who hesitates loses.  Something like that.

Well more rain is coming and supposed to stay around for overnight and into tomorrow morning.  Will be good on my food plot.

The squitos are unreal right now.  I had to wear a long sleeve shirt due to them.  Well see ya all later.  Wish me luck on this 4 wheeler.

Mornin'! Good luck in your quest LPS. I have 3 used Polaris 4 wheelers in varying operational status. Think there's an '01, an '02 and an '04. May want to unload some of them as we've gone more to Rangers and Gators for work. 1.21" of rain in the overnight so we're up to about 3" for the week. Mosquitoes are friendly but not as numerous (yet) as they have been in recent years.

Morning, General, I love your avatar.  Anyone ever get worn out from having a vacation?  Supposed to relax right?  Well I did some and had a good time.  Don't get me wrong, I did have a great time and I would do it again today if I could.  Just seems I'm on the go all the time.  Still tired.  Probably a good tired.  Nothing like getting a lot of fish and spending time with the family.  I'm the go to guy on the pontoon as well.  Get me this or that, hook my leech, I got a tangle ect.  I did only make one request and that was to get me a brew.  I was surprised as to how well the grandkids behaved on the pontoon.  Hardly ever got bored.  Had them reel in a few perch too and they loved that.  But You never really get a chance to sit back and relax.   I think that's why I got all pooped out.  I'm also the kind of guy after I come home and un-pack and felt glad to be back, the very next day I'm ready to do it all over again.  good luck.

Welcome back RH.  You are the Man.  That would tire me out too.  I love the kids for a couple of days and then I need some quiet time.  Man I can't believe the menu you have on vacation.  That is gourmet stuff for at the cabin.  We had a great time at Bear Head.  Thanks for the idea.  Did not even fish.  Toured the park went for walks and sat back and relaxed in between walks with the dogs.  AND it felt to get home too.  About 3 nights out is our comfort zone.  Going to the Black Hills this fall for 4 nights.  That will be a marathon for us.  :-)

Morning.  The other guy got the 4 wheeler.  So to look at the bright side I saved $5 grand.  I did get a buddy for Bucko yesterday though.  An older gray horse.  His name is Jiggs.  Very friendly.  He will think he died and is in heaven living here.  The grass is 2' tall and bug spray and even some sweet feed now and then.  He looks happy this morning.  So does Bucko.  Makes my day.

We got 1 1/2" of rain last night.  Still spitting some.  Will have to pump out the boat tonight.  May even go for a boat ride.  Been so long I will have to retrain on how to run the boat.   :bonk:

TGIF..  Even though it was a short week I am glad it is the weekend looking at us.  Hope to get some things done around home.  There is a lot of vegetation issues to tend to with all of the rain we have been getting.  Weed whipping, garden tending, mow pasture, trim suckers off maple trees etc.  No end to it.  I am out of Roundup and need to spray around things better so I don't have to weed whip.

I just made myself tired with that list so see ya all later.....

This morning, is not a good morning.
This morning, the boy and I will be heading into town to get hair cuts, new clothes,  and maybe shoes. Then send some flowers.
Sounds ok, but we are getting ready for a funeral.
Heard yesterday, my grandmother passed.
She was 93, so she had a long life and very active till the last year.

Anaway, sorry to be a downer boys. I hope you all have a great weekend. ...cause you never know, it might be your last.

Morning all. Sorry to here about your Grandmother HD. TGIF is right, seems like for a short week it was longer then normal. Man did it drag. Doesn't help that half the dept was gone this week. Going to make a Bemidji run tomorrow, need to hit the ole menards for supplies. Getting a patio ready to pour cement in the near future. Have a good one all.

So sorry to hear that HD.  My Grandparents lived to ripe old ages too.  Noone died in our family for many years.  Then many of them went in a few years.  Things change every time someone dies.  All that is left is the good memories.  AND that will be there forever.  Some of their influence lives on in us.
