Boar- This Summer when I was guiding these guys from Kansas City we took a walleye break and went to catch crappies.  They were catching these huge bluegills and wouldn't take photos with them cause they have em at home like varmint.  Just beauties but no photos, I believe they used the N word in their reason for no photos.  Anyway Glen is all about those kid fish.  Frankly I don't keep em cause they are too good looking to eat.

  Cutting grass yesterday and came across these two puffballs. Any good receipts (spelling) for cooking and/or keeping them around?

Thanks markn! Always nice to be appreciated. As far as the puffballs, not much of an expert. I know some guys used to fry them up with a batter made from eggs and cracker crumbs. Of course these were the same guys who used to run around looking for little mushrooms growing out of cowpies...

No internet service for us in the Great White North and I haven’t got a hotspot thingy. Sometimes it’s nice to go off the grid. Had a great time in Canada. One night we grilled lamb, had baked potatoes, and salad for the Canadians and they brought food too including homemade blueberry cake and chocolate zucchini bread. Best of all when we were finished with the meal, the ladies sprang into action and cleaned the mess up! Bill and I figured ahead of time we’d have a lot of dishes and silverware to wash while we were having our morning tincture. They thought nothing of it. Try that down here and a lot of women wouldn’t even offer or lift a finger to help.

Caught a few smallmouth off the dock for entertainment. Dinked around cutting up some wood, cleaned up some messes that others had left. The worst one was the compost container. Someone's been throwing egg shells and whole eggs in it. The shells don’t break down easily and you can about imagine what kind of varmints one might attract. At least one bear got into it, scattering the contents all over and making one hell of a mess. We cleaned it up and got it put back together. When I got back to the cabin I looked down at my boot to see a hunk of bear dookey stuck to it. Bears apparently defecate not only in the woods but more specifically in the woods next to compost containers.

Now that's more like it.  We didn't want to see pics of you.  We wanted pics of #2.  How are her and #1 getting along.  Don't ever leave them alone or they will become friends and you will be on the outside looking in..  Been there done that.   AND anyone can catch a big fish, it takes talent to catch little fish like that 3" crappie.

Good morning! 59* and cloudy/wet out...lotsa leaves down, smells like Fall, and the geese just flew low over head out to the fields, honking away. First of the year. It's coming, guys......

Morning, wet here, got about 1/2" here.  Seems wetter than when we got the 2" last week.  I guess the ground must be pretty saturated in spots.  Starting to get a little brighter out I see.  Good.  Going to be a little cooler now.  Highs in the mid 50's will be the nice days now.  A few will be down in the 40's now.  I have about 10 cukes I haven't picked yet.  I am waiting till the last day so they can grow a little but I need to pick them in the next day or two before frost hits us.  A friend of mine here had frost a couple of weeks ago that ended his garden.  I got lucky so far.  Boar you timed your ride perfectly.  You had some nice weather for that.  Not much else to report on so see ya all later.

#2 and #1 haven't had the chance to meet yet and I don't see it happening in the near future but I hear ya.  All I know is she still thinks I'm the best thing since sliced bread and that can't last too much longer.  I'm worn down though...like a buck at the end of November.  I need to join a chain gang to get some rest I'm thinking, I feel like Dotch I'd guess.

Well today sucked. Spent 4 hours at the hospital as the wifey had a procedure done all as I felt like death warmed over. Blasted head colds! hope it lightens up tomorrow. Had a bowl of comfy food chocolate ice cream and about ready to go ni- nite! Back to work tomorrow.
