Good morning everybody!!! Apparently I shut my alarm off and went back to sleep, so no quality time with the muzzleloader this morning. We'll be out there this afternoon though.

Beef short ribs tonight, looking forward to that. I've got some yard cleanup to do today, and get things in the shed organized a bit so I can get the tractor put away for the winter.

Lazy morning here...28* and cloudy. Gonna head up to the store in a bit, outta fresh veggies and fruit. Taking it slow today, feeling better, finally, but not over whatever-it-is yet. I need fresh air, this house-bound drives me nuts. I hate being inside. Speaking of, wonder what Dotch and the Dil & Del twins are up to? Wasn't he trying to get out of some woolie whacker meeting or something? Have a good one, guys. You too, Glenn!   ;)

28 and snowing lightly here.  Windy too.  Would like to have some calm weather for the freezeup.  No Vikes today so will be a pressure free day.  lol  May put tracks on the Yamaha for winter we will see if I get around to it.  Going to go get some country style ribs as I mentioned a few days ago.  Will make one of the homemade sauces that were also mentioned by Del or Rebs.  May also do a batch of ham and bean soup to munch on during the week.  I always make big batches of everything and can eat it for days.  We have started to vac pack leftovers too which is really nice.  I sure am getting the sausage urge too so in the next few weeks will have to get on that.  Only have 1 ring of sausage left in the freezer....   Having coffee now.  Kind of a boring regular ol Folgers.  Need to get something better.  Have a great day all....

34 with 2" of really wet snow on the ground. Lost cable a couple times until we went out & cleaned off the dish. No Vikings so I'll have to see if I can find the games that GB & Det are playing in so I can watch them lose ;D Enjoy your day.

Good morning all!!! About the same weather here as at LPSs and Boars-- kinda windy with light snow falling. Not much happening here today-- didn't see any deer from the stand this morning, a doe and two fawns last night. The ribs were pretty darn good last night, but I forgot to get a picture. Had a baked tater and homemade creamed corn with them. Coffee really hits the spot this morning.

Ola amigos, boy that's just wrong.. 32 and a couple of inches of wet sloppiness on the ground here. Made a ff and cubola run this morning, not much else going on besides the cable guy is coming out today. Man can they creap up the bill on one. So we're getting rid of our land line and going through cable for wifi, updating boxes and dumping a bunch of useless channels for Netflix. Saving about 100 bucks a month until they try to slide that bill up.    Enjoy your Sunday gents!

What? No Tom Foolery?   ;)

Had about an inch of snow here in the overnight at the ranch and in Bugtussle proper. Melted out to about .09" of liquid equivalent. Attended the MN Lamb and Wool Growers Shepherds Holiday event Fri. nite & Saturday. Mrs. Cheviot won the coveted Silver Bell Award for her work in promoting the lamb and wool industry. Even left me alone so I could sleep once I assumed the fetal position. Just kind of sniffed me, grunted then moved on! This a.m. had a Lions pancake benefit where I grilled French toast. The guy who was on first shift gummed the grill up so it was a workout. Apparently got impatient and carried away with the oil by the looks of things. Got it cleaned up and re-seasoned so hopefully they find something else for him to do next time. One of my pet peeves is cleaning up other people's messes. Funny that way.

Dotch, you guys over there are almost famous....   Almost because it is Waseca, but whatever.

Mark Seeley's weather blog...

http://blog-weathertalk.extension.umn.edu/

....

Waseca now reports 54.13 inches of precipitation for 2016 and this is a new statewide annual precipitation record, surpassing the old one of 53.52" at St Francis (Anoka County) in 1991.
....

And an interesting thought...(from Mark, not me)

Commentary on Winter TIME:

No question will be answered this week, but I want to take TIME to make a comment about Winter TIME. Managing the TIME in the Winter Season in Minnesota is a different ball game than other seasons of the year, because everything takes longer. No question winter will be felt more frequently soon in the daily weather, and snowfalls will become more frequent this month. The rash of bicycle, pedestrian, and vehicular accidents reported during the snow storms towards the end of November reminded me about adjusting for Winter TIME. Our concept of time needs to be adjusted. Lengthen the time intervals that you have intuitively built-into your everyday habits and tasks. It takes longer to walk places, longer to drive places, longer to dress and undress, longer to warm up the car, longer to degomble (shed snow) when you come into the house. You need to make time to shovel snow, scrape the windshield, clean the furnace filters, When you walk take shorter steps and not too fast...put the boots, gloves and hat on when you go outside....check on the neighbor if their place hasn't been shoveled...everything should slow down..except for the long Minnesota goodbye..that is better shortened...just say goodbye, open the door, leave and close the door behind you....no need to stand in an open doorway for minutes conversing about last minute stuff. Winter TIME is an adjustment that may save you anxiety, regret, or even injury.

Yup, we wound up with only a paltry 43.something inches last I checked. They received several major rainfall events over the summer months that we were fortunate to miss. I know the guys who measure the rain and snow there. They're a couple weather freaks and honest as the day is long. We compare notes from time to time when something of interest happens.
