We got a couple of inches of fluffy snow here.  Most of it went west of us and east of us.  Good.  Like to have a little insulation for the septic and water pipes though.  I got the new boat cover yesterday so got it on and the boat is outside so my got my truck in the garage last night.  Had a nice fire going in the wood burner so will be nice and warm this morning.  Man that really helps take the sting out of winter mornings.  I think I have enough wood for this winter and next.  I still add to the pile though.  Still eating the ham and bean soup.   ;)  I am thinking this may be the last day the wife is going to be able to go with it.  lol  If so we will freeze the rest of it.  I would think ice is forming again in the bays and creeks around here.  We don't need this wind though.  Well everyone stay warm, be careful, and drive slow.

I can only vacuum the fish house and change the line on my Lindell Rattle Reels so many times so come on ICE!

LPS, I got a warning and 3 demerit points ( never had points before ) at HSO for telling people they would have to go to another site to get an honest opinion of Clam products. Some young pup gave me a lecture about steering people away from their site and even quoted Rick a few times. I hate the fact they get more local Ice activity than other sites. Such idiots!

Yup where are their heads at????  It is like they think they have the only site out there.  DUH!!  They are obviously driving people away from their site with their present philosophy.  Can't they see that?  I visited them a few times in the last few days.  So what right?.  I even mentioned Lindell Ice Rigs on a post to see if they would start to cry about it but no response.  I thought maybe they were coming around.  Guess not from your incident.  They do have a nice site it is just too bad they can't learn to play well with others.

I'd like to hear an honest review about clam products.  Maybe start one in the ice fishing forum.  I currently have an otter but had the very first clam fish trap with the wooden bench seat that was passed down to me from my dad.  That thing was rode hard and put away wet once I owned it.

OK. My take: The smaller stuff is IMO, junk. Cheaply made throw-away stuff. They've had many probs with the tent fabrics, poles, and other issues over the years. Let's just say I was a "senior person/writer" on a large ice-fishing site, and we had a thread on Clam products. Page after page of defects, no customer service, and problems. I've seen a lot of ice fishing gear, since I've been doing it since the 70's, and used to live, eat, breathe ice fishing. I tend to be a bit of a "techie" on stuff, as I repair a lot of the stuff. (or used to) I normally buy what I like and what works for me, to heck with the reviews. I don't need the big name brand stuff to make me happy. I've bought the Clam fans, lights, and some other gear for my ice shack. It was a waste of money. Friends had bigger and worse issues. One was customer service. Non-existent for some. Anyway, that's my take, that stops about two years ago. I don't know if they've improved since then or not, but I do know their rods and reels are crap still, IMO. Not worth wasting yer money.

I can't say anything about Clam, but I bought an Otter insulated 8 x 8 hub house last year cuz it was in stock at Outdoors Again here.  I couldn't be happier with it.  Well made and it fits in the bag with ease....

Todays TIP: Do not belch after having two beef hot pepper cheese sticks, some pickled  herring with onions, and a glass of fresh egg nog to wash it down.   *urp*   :puke:

Morning Gents. Been away from the puter for a few days. Been busy here at work with some big moves. Good times. Most of the snow missed us up here, maybe got 4 inches or so. I have not been over to HSO for a couple of weeks. About the only thing I like to check anymore is to see if Curt C has any new videos and get the LOTW fishing reports. Going to be making some venny sausage this coming weekend. have a good one.

Everything is still black or green around my place.  Looking like another year of not have to use the snow blower  :happy1:.  Guess maybe I should have fired up the sled and taken it out that first snow.  It be nice to see 20 inches of ice before it snowed again.

Windy a light snow in the air today.  Saw lots of snow devils blowing around on my morning drive.  Good day to stay put.  I got out the pot of ham and bean soup last night and heated it up on the stove and the wife dug right into it.   ;)  Curious to see if she can handle it again tonight.  lol  I will keep you posted.  When I got home from work she was looking at a Cabelas sale flyer that came in the mail.  How cool is that?  Maybe she will buy me some stuff...  Was 74 in the garage this morning.  I am in wood burner mode now.  Some guys from Ohio were up here last year and left about 10 30' slabs of beech wood that are about 2-3 inches thick.  I cut one up into firewood sized chunks.  It looks like poppel type bark but is hard and heavy.  They said it is more like oak.  Man does that burn nice.  Lots of coals in the morning...  I mix it in with tamarac.  As much as I like ice fishing I am having a hard time getting excited for this winter weather.  I guess I just need to adjust yet.  I have Sat and Sun off this weekend so maybe that and a Vikings win will snap me out of this slump.....  :happy1:  Have a great day and drive careful.

We had 14, -1 windchill, early. It looked to be warmer up at the lake than here. Heard some plows out & it sounds like the wind is kicking up pretty good already. Stay warm & drive safe if you have to travel. Have a good 1

A chilly good morning...15* here, and headed for the deep freeze. The wedder morjits are slinging their favorite bling phrase around for next week, Polar Vortex. "A huge mass of cold arctic air that drops down from the Arctic and brings very cold temperatures". I learned that in grade school in the 60's, except we called it "Old Man Winter"  Ya, the air would sweep down from cold regions to make it cold...duh...isn't that how it works? I think I'll make my own bling phrase.  I was outside the other day after eating a bowl of Reb's Hellfire chili, and cut loose a horrendous fart. Left a melted swatch of snow across the front yard, and crisped up the back fur on two squirrels playing with their nuts.
Would this be called a Scirocco? "Like a hot wind out of the desert"....Just like in that  old VW commercial? Have a good one, guys... ;D

Morning.  Blowing like a  uh, never mind.  Sort of blizzard like here...   ;)  Not much travel advised in this area.  Gonna get cold as you all have mentioned.  I usually enjoy pushing snow with the wheeler so better bundle up tonight and get it done.  May have to get my friends with a plow to do it for me if they are caught up with their other accounts.  Big local seafood sale today at the grocery store.  I am going to get me some lobster tails and some big prawns.  We do lobster during the holiday season.  Gonna do prawns too.  Well I will check in later.  See ya all.
