Good morning all!!! TGIF!!!  Half day of work today for me, then go help the neighbor haul hay for the afternoon. No big plans for the weekend, other than my mom spending it with us. Not sure what I'll make for New Year's Eve yet. Scallops sound dang good, maybe crab legs. I'll get it figured out at the supermarket later. Ohhhh, I've got a pound of skrimps in the freezer at home too. Hmmmmm, decisions, decisions.  Anyhoo, have a great day all!!!! You too Boar!!!

New Year's Prediction: The blue runt will stop at Morey's on his way home so Mrs. Smurf will just think he's been fishing!

Mmmmm...those scallops sure sound good. Have a few in the freezer that need to be et. Never done them on the grill so that might be something to try. Also plenty of lamb that didn't make the grill last Sunday due to the rain and high winds. Got taters, baked beans, squash, mixed veggies, apple crisp and ice cream so we should manage to scrape something together. Tonic and lime supply is suspect so it needs replenishing. Gin supply appears to be adequate although I may head to HyVee to grab a liter on sale. Crucial to maintain the reserves in case there's company.  :happy1:

I cheated and bought a pkg of bacon wrapped brown-sugar glazed scallops at Trader Joe's...

lbbg, I forgot to call. Was sleeping like a baby for once. Dreamt I was on an island with a hot native girl, eating big soft marshmallows. Woke up and half my pillow was gone.   ;D

Mmmmmm bacon wrapped scallops!!! With brown sugar glaze ta boot!!! :applause:

Dotch's prediction is exactly right. The little bugger is going to stop at Morey's on the way home. Of course, he'll go sneak a couple pictures with fish outside of somebody else's house and claim he caught them.

Are you sure the neighbor lady didn't sneak over last night??   :doah:

Yup. Received an E-mail from the "original" (not the new one)  NL ydy. She's been in Wisconsin with her Dad, who has terminal liver cancer. He passed away while she stepped out of his room for just a bit to get some fresh air....on Christmas day. Holy god . Now her Mom had to have an emergency angiogram to clear a blockage...and it didn't work. That poor girl. She's really takin' the hits. So, I won't be joking about the NL anymore.  However, there is the new one...who I'll call the NF...neighbor fluff. She can come over to my house ANY friggin' time.... a little Bob Segar and the horizontal bop....:woot:   :dancinred:

Whoops, almost forgot the word of the day..."senior". Figured it's fitting on here.  ;D

Ya good morning.  And Rebs only take one of the little blue pills or you may need the ambulance but they would have to load you sideways if you know what I mean.  It is calm here and -4 out.  Looks like a nice day.  I am going to turn the heat on and redrill the holes in the fish house today.  That will give me some fishing action for the weekend.  Will just fish afternoon for a couple of hours before and until dark.  That way I can spend time with the wife too.  She may fish with me but she has been watching Hallmark Porn when I fish so works good for both of us.  I may have to use some of Dotch's evasive maneuvers when I get back to the house....  lol  Actually I would succumb to the pressure fairly eagerly.   :happy1: :happy1:  I am easy!!!   :happy1:  Gonna be a good weekend.  Hope you all have a good one too.

Good morning and happy new year to everyone, hope all had a fun and safe night. Not much for the day today just eating the usual pork, sourkrut and hot dogs while watching the game. I might do something I've never done before on New Year's Day, it's going to be 45 and sunny here so I might just go and cut the grass so I can say that I've done that once in my life. Anyways y'all have a great day at whatever the day brings your way
if you kick me when I'm down you better pray I don't get up.

Happy New Years fellas.....   We did grill the lobsters last night and it turned out real good.  Easy too.  Had some cocktails and of course did not make it till midnight.  Never do anymore which is ok with us.  The wife said she wants to sit with me in the fish house.  That will be great.  Buddy is going to be sad that he doesn't get to go with me.  lol  I kept 3 nice ones last night.  Let a few smaller ones go.  May have fish with eggs today.  Well have a fun day to all of ya.

Got some cobwebs this morning.  Went to our old neighbors' house and had a few Blue Angels (Busch Lights) last night and watched the Wild lose.  Ate catered-in Chipotle and that was good and simple.  Stayed overnight there and got the kids down about midnight - they had a LOT of energy but had fun running around.  Against our better judgement, We stayed up a couple more hours with a few more beers and hit the hot tub.  Hit the rack around 2:00 am and then my 6 year old woke up at 4:00 am with a serious bloody nose.  He was sleeping with his older brother and somehow ended up with his head by his brother's feet.  I think he took a heel on the honker.  Took me about 30 minutes of running around my friends house in my boxers trying to calm him down and clean-up the mess.  After I got him back in bed I couldn't fall back asleep and the dog and cat took turns bothering me.  Eventually we just woke up and headed home.  Now I gotta run my oldest to Hockey Practice and do some grocery shopping. No rest for the wicked, making Pork Schnitzel tonight!

We made the lobsters on the pellet grill and cut the underside prior and then as the grilled rubbed garlic butter over them.  We pulled the framper over to the neighbors and the cocktails started flowing around 3pm.  The dice box came out and horses started after supper.  Then the music and everyone was having a good time.  3/4 of a bottle of Rum later I was felling pretty good.  I remember 3:30am and myself and one other guy cracked one last beer.  I'm surprised I feel as good as I do today.  Good thing as we have to go to one last Christmas today at 1pm.  Which reminds me I need to pack a cooler. ;)

Mornin'! For a while yet anyway. Beautiful day here at the ranch with sunshine and 28 so far. Critters like it. Sheep have been sleeping outside so that's a plus. Less poo to haul. Heading for a high around 35 or so I'm told. More rain &  ice on the way for tomorrow so think I'll just wait on picking up sticks until spring. Had the bacon wrapped scallops and lamb chops on the grill last night with plenty of libations. A little groggy but slept like a rock. May have to get off my behind though and go for a walk down to the pond this afternoon. Although sitting around having cocktails watching football & BB is always an option. It is still a holiday and so is tomorrow technically.  :happy1:

Just went for our annual snowcat ride.  The wife rides with me since we bought her a snow suit a couple of years ago.  Have to use it at least once a year.  Fun 40 minute ride.  lol  Beautiful sunny day here.  About 12 degrees here and not much wind.  Have a fire going in the garage and everything is good here.  Now will the Vikes game add to the great day or detract from it????  We shall see.  As I said before the fish house is warmed up and is only 238 yards away from my easy chair so if the games gets pear shaped I am going fishing....  A cocktail or two may be involved too....   I just got a range finder so have been playing with it hence the 238 yards....    :happy1:
