Man it is still hard to believe they send you home right away.  Was it a ruptured disc Glenn?  Sure hope you are feeling better and that it was a complete success.  Will think good thoughts for you today....    I looked at the thermometer and it said -34.8.  I had to look again to make sure that is what I saw.  I just looked again and it says -8?????  The batteries must be going bad...  So now I am glad it is -8.....

Happy Groundhog Day! Punkazz Phil saw his shadow...6 more weeks of winter!

February 02, 2017 08:08 AM

PUNXSUTAWNEY, Pa. (AP) - If you've had your fill of winter, "Punxsutawney Phil" the groundhog has some less than welcome news for you.

The Pennsylvania prognosticator is predicting six more weeks of winter, having seen his shadow this morning.

No shadow would have meant an early spring - if you're willing to take the word of a groundhog.

Speaking of shaving "down there" Gunner.  When we were in high school one of my buddies got a hernia. He was in the hospital waiting to go in for his surgery.  In walks this big mean looking woman and she said I am here to shave you.  He wasn't sure what she meant and she wasn't smiling.  She said take down your pants...  Then he knew what she meant.  Well as a high school kid with raging hormones he couldn't control that part and he couldn't stop it.  He said the more he tried the bigger it got.  He looked at her  and she looked him right in the face with a mean look and with the back of her hand she wacked it.  Immediately everything went back to normal.....    :rotflmao: :rotflmao: :rotflmao:  I love it when he tells that story....

9 above to start the day and the wind continues to blow. No newbies overnight so 1 more to go before we cue up the music. Lots of water hauling going on to the lambing pens. Warm water doesn't freeze as fast and the ewes with lambs consume more which doesn't hurt their milk production. Worst part is it's icy so spreading a layer of grit on the track was a must first. Time for prime rib sammich day at the Willows so better get there before they run out. Toodles!

nope no ruptured disc. think a bulged disc. he said he was going to put a tube in then some kind of grinder. remove some bone, clean up the area so I have more of an opening to release pressure. he called it a minimally invasive procedure. anyways I was checked in at 8 am and back home by 3;30 ish!!!!!! not more then 10 lbs lifting, a bit of at home rehab. I can already tell the diffenece. he did say I got some arthritis in my back!!!!!!!!! confused-3316.gif

Morning gents. had -6 to star the day today. Looks like 20s tomorrow then back to the single digits. The big plan is to cut wood this weekend. The plan is to do 3 loads and we can get 3 cord on the trailer each time. We plan to cut 24 cord, so that will be our big plans for the next 3 weekends. Provided the loggers skidder does not break again. They seem to be having one of those ruff years this year. Not much else new happening hear. Have a good day.

You must have an outdoor wood stove huh JB?  I think I go through about 3 cords to keep my garage/shop heated all winter.  I have an indoor wood stove in there.  Good excercise and nice to have a warm vehicle.  Man at 4 am there is no way I would have thought I woud be going to work.  I felt terrible.  Trying to shake a cold.  Well I got up and took two ibuprofren and went back to bed and now I feel much better and am going to work.  I want to take Monday off so I can raise heck on Super Bowl Sunday.  lol  I need to get more round bales out to the horses on Sat.  Not sure if I can drive my truck out in the pasture or if the snow is too deep.  Maybe I will try to use my ATV with tracks.  They are small 3-4 hundred lb bales.  I drag them with a cable. See ya all later.
