So how did the insurance date go Mike??  Morning all.  Looks like rain here but hasn't started yet.  Got a call from an old Buddy that is up here so will meet up with him for a beer or two tonight or tomorrow night.  Trying to talk the wife into coming along to be my driver in case it turns into a few more...  Windy here today.  Can't wait for the weekend.

Morning boys. Yah, Mike we are all waiting for the pictures. 60 To start the day here and lots of rain in the forecast. Wasn't raining at home when we left for work, but it was raining here in Warroad when the wife dropped me off at 6:30. Other then that just another fine day ahead. Have fun having a beer or 2 with your buddy Barry! Have a good day all.

Morning everyone.  Started to rain here early this morning.  A nice steady rain which we need.  Think I found a good mechanic to fix my outboard.  Found out how much this marine dealer near me rips people off.  I thought there was something wrong with my charging system in my motor.  Marine dealer said it was my voltage regulator/rectifier.  Bought it for $200.  They were going to install it for another $200.  Took me 10 minutes to put it in.  Still the same problem I thought.

Found this guy that repairs all 2 cycle and 4 cycle engines.  He checked it out and said I had a faulty gauge on my dash on my boat.  My charging system was fine.  Final cost for doing this---$50.  Dealer was going to charge me $150 to check my motor out.  He fixes chain saw's, lawn mowers, 4 wheelers and more.  Honesty is what I'm looking for and I think this guy has it.  Made my day.  good luck.

Mornin gents, 58 for us to start. Had some thunder & lightning around 2 last night but only a couple tenths in the gauge, looks like we're in for more though. Great find RH :happy1:, wish we could do the same up here. With the way the weather looks today, I think we'll be headin to town as we need a few groceries. Stay dry everyone & have a great day.

I don't know what insurance you are looking ar, but I am not a fan of whole life or universal life or any of that stuff they try to tell you is an "investment".

We have Term Life Del.  It is a 20 year policy that we started about 5 years ago.  I read in an AARP magazine that one should switch to Universal Life that lasts forever.  I bet it costs a lot more.  Haven't talked to my Insurance Lady about it.   :happy1:

I'll just say that everyone's life insurance situation tends to be different. What makes sense for one may be the exact wrong thing for someone else based on their different variables. And situations (like mine) change over time. There then!

Speaking of life, yesterday was one of those days that was busy but full of positives.  Got our hay baled yesterday ahead of the overnight rain. .66" at the ranch and .76" in Bugtussle proper. While I was raking hay yesterday morning, I had some observers. Judging by all the deer terds in the stubble this spring, guessing that the doe may have been one of the several noshing on it over the course of the winter. She appears to be in great shape considering the 3 little urchins she's taking care of.  :happy1:

I know. I just can't sit and do nothing. Did some yard work...minor trimming...and mowed that front.  :doah: My buddy is on vacation that mows for me. Had to stop every couple of minutes, as the legs pains feel like yer leg is getting ripped off, but I got it done. Just a lot of sit, stop, sit, mow, sit, mow, sit. Got 'er done, though.

Your a fighter Reb for sure.  My brother was a cop for almost 30 years and has had a hip replacement.  My wife works in a bank and had both knees replaced this past year one at a time.  I was a butcher for over 35 years and most of it in cold conditions and hard work and so far still have all my parts.  Hopefully I keep the original parts but you never know.  good luck.

Thanks RH. Big believer in if ya want it done right, do it yerself. It also drives me nuts watching someone do my work for me now because I'm physically unable to. Not used to that.

I don't trust aarp advice about insurance.

I favor term insurance to get the necessary protection at a more reasonable price.

Too much fine print in those fancy policies, and too much conflict of interest for the agent, since they make way more commission off non-term stuff.

I agree Del.  When we get the AARP offers in the mail they are much more expensive than what we are paying now.  I already have a savings account so why sacrifice insurance coverage for one...  We got a half inch of rain last night.  Yes Rebs we saw on the news last night that you got it again down there.  Well tonight is the night to go visit with my Buddy up at Borderview.  The wife said she will be my driver...  She's the best.  Had the German sausage last night.  They were good but not as much flavor as I hoped.  Maybe I over cooked them.  Simmered them in beer and water with lots of onions.  Maybe I shouldn't have added water.  They had a great texture to them.   :happy1:

Morning all. I survived the storms with minimal damage down here in Swampville, storm capitol of Minnysoda; others not so lucky. Limb off my birch flattened and broke one large sedum plant when it fell, knocked some pickets off my little pickets fence, and just missed wrecking my landscape lights. Broken branches all over.  Two cars crushed a few blocks away when some huge maples were blown over on them. Got 1.1" rain here in about thirty minutes. Was coming down in five-gallon buckets. Sure are getting hammered into the ground here this Summer. I need some cawfee, was one of those humid and still nites, didn't sleep well. Not hot enough to turn on the air, but just enough to make it warm in here. Next time I see more storms, I'm gonna turn on all the fans in the house and blow 'em up yer guys way....Have a good one, guys.   :azn:

Morning boys. We got .83" of rain yesterday. 60 to start the day today and I believe 60s for the high I believe. Suppose to warm up some over the weekend. Put a new stator in my boat on Tuesday night. I am hoping that cures the problem of the motor dying and not starting for 20-30 minutes. Seems to be the symptoms of stators going bad. Don't need to be out in the middle of the lake again and have the motor die like it did last summer. Well 1 more day until Friday and then a 4 day weekend. have a good one!

LPS, mixing water and beer is a sin in the smokeheads world.  Picking up my boat today.  Thought it was my stator and found out it was a faulty voltage gauge on my boat.  My daughter asked if they could use the boat for a whole week now.  Well maybe I'll get to use it after that.  I don't like the heavy storms at all.  Had my share.  one year we had the roof replaced twice and the siding once that year.  Feel bad for all the folks who have to replace the whole house and were injured.  Some have even died due to these storms.  Yesterday I took a chance to cut my grass.  3/4 done and suddenly it just poured on me.  Me and the lawnmower went in the garage and I'll have to finish it today.  good luck.
