fishing for me has been quiet, still can't get the boat off the lift!!  but generally one can catch fish to eat if you are hungry, most of the time I'm C&R,   but some times you have to eat a couple!!!

ribs on the smoker are always great!!!  I'm thinking of doing a porketta some time too....

64 here when we went out. Had some action(6-8), all still swimmin. More of the glenn effect today as they're talkin about a NW wind up to 15. That wind make this lake rock & roll, especially our end(SE). I got my mowing done before the rain(6 ish) yday, it didn't amount to much but we'll take all we can get. It's so dry here that some of the trees are dropping their leaves on the windier days. Not much on my list for today, so I'll have to see what the day brings. Have good 1 & hope everyone has a great weekend. Stay safe.

Back from fair.  12 hours with grandkids.  Mostly on my feet.   17000 steps on the fitbit.   Lotsa seniors, for sure.

I think I saw Reb outside the swine barn with a machete  :hubba:..... So I stayed away.   I think his must have gotten another freezer...

Say! Now THERE's an idea! Top grade piggers!! Sneak in the back door.... Having pig chops later today on the grill. Cloudy and 59* Was supposed to rain last nite and this am; never did. I knew I never shoulda started that bit of painting yday...painted the south side bottom half  of house, which is concrete block 7' high. Goes pretty quick with a medium nap roller on extension pole, though. Just have the smaller east wall to do, then a bit on north side. Have two full cans left over from house painting some years back, best use it before it's no good anyway. Project for today if it clears up. Have a good weekend all.

Had some sprinkles overnight, .02". About like a heavy dew so it shouldn't have hurt the hay. Cloudy and cool so far, about 61 degrees presently. Just think in a couple months temperatures like that will be a real treat.  :pouty: Nice breeze so hoping the hay that was about the consistency of damp shoestrings about 6 p.m. last night will go late afternoon today. Lots to do before that. Need to pick up some dog food & make a run to get adult beverages. Someone has been tough on the gin supply since Crop Tour got over with.

Sounds like a great day Mike.  We were going to go golfing this morning but canceled that.  Just going to laze around for awhile and then do some things around here.  A fire will be involved.  Looks like rain north of us.  Kind of why we canceled golf. A friend dropped off some sweet corn for us so need to grill or smome something with that.  Not sure what yet.

Morning guys, 54 for our start. Had some action early :fishing:( thought it would be better with the big weather change comin ), quite a few others out. We must've had a steady 15-20 mph WNW wind here yday so there was a lot of boats out in the bay .I see 1 of the neighbors has their dock, lift, & swim platform pulled already this morning. There will be more soon to follow, probably yet this weekend. Not much else new here just hopin you have a good 1

Had the bedroom window open last night and we woke to strong winds and hail hitting the AC unit in the window.  Then all of a sudden it just quit.  Today it is a damp morning out.  I think we are going to hit the golf course for 9 holes.  We are both a little sore from all of the tree cutting and burning yesterday but that is a good thing.  Still have to think of something to cook today......

The wind went to the north here last night shortly after 7. We had 57 startin out but it felt more like 47. Too much wind early so we didn't go out :fishing: More of the same tomorrow but cooler, they're saying. A little rain on the way this afternoon. Might do some more mowing before the rain today, otherwise not much happening.  Have a good 1

Fall is coming..... I've never heard so many geese honking overhead so early. These guys are WAY low, too, I swear they're gonna land on my roof yet. My house is right in the "head north" fly zone, but still way early for so many, and I've been keeping track of the dates for the 25 years I've lived here. The Sedums are turning maroon right on schedule, anyway...

Nice looking flower garden Rebs.  We were given a Sedum when we moved here 12 years ago.  I love it, very hardy plant too.  Had a fun time golfing today.  Real windy here so not sure about the tree trimming and bonfires today.

Thanks, No that was last springs project. I took out the garden and planted grass. I got tired of gardens, flowers and trees so it's all grass now. This is this years grass project.

Hey Mike, what I did was I gave it a microwave boost and then finished it on the grill with the steaks.  I could have done it a little longer but it was still good.  I have 2 more that we will have with burgers tonight.  I will cook them longer.  I may do the complete smoker thing today.  Thanks Mike and Happy Labor Day.  I bought some garlic ground pork and some Italian ground pork.  I will mix them together and grill them as burgers.  It is awesome!!  Have done it before and may be my favorite burgers now.
