After a great time in the woods yesterday, I'm heading back for seconds today.  Nothing like a good woods fix to help remedy some cabin fever.

Very interesting Del.  Forget about the Bus Line.  Used to take the bus a lot when I was a kid.

Yes, today went a long way to relieve the remaining cabin fever that was not knocked out yesterday.
Maybe just a few more will put quiet the fever.  Can't wait for the next trip.

Morning all. 33* with the whole gamut to hit us here in the space of 3-4 days. Today, fawgy, misty. Then 1/4" rain tomorrow with sleet. Then 4-6" snow, with rapidly plummeting temps. -14* by Sat and Sunday with highs below zero, high winds....again. I gotta move to Arizona or New Mexico and strings ristras or something. Big meeting at my Mom's with Social services at 9:00 AM today. That's gonna be a doozy...I'll be the target. Since their van was repo'd becuz he (her husband, the ass) didn't pay the bills, somehow he managed to get the key to and start Mom's car. Been sitting 2 yrs since she had her license pulled. No tabs, insurance, or legit plates on it. Somehow, he drove it to Albert Lea and was gone all day. His license has been pulled, and he's in a complete mental fugue. Somehow he made it back. Glad he didn't kill anyone. I was there all day yday again, and he would not give me the key to it, his son just shrugged his shoulders, so I went and found the key, locked up the car, and pulled the battery and ignition module, which both are now on MY workbench.
Maybe Del will let me fly away with him next week for a while.....
Hope you all have a good day, and be ready for the storm. Be careful out there. I picked up another 20 lbs of ice melt yday on the way home.....guess I'm set!!

Morning all, bracing for the storm.  We will see what happens tonight.  I was looking for that Super Bowl ticket joke thing to tell the wife and now I can't find it.  Let me know where it is if you remember.

Hang in there Rebs.  You have a challenge there.  Sounds like you are a good man for the job though.  Good for you.  It will all come together eventually.  You need to take care of yourself during this ordeal too.  Don't forget that.

My buddy made it form an old Honda Big Red rear end.  It works great. It can be unhooked,
tipped down to lift the logs like you would with a dolly.  As you can see it can haul a pretty big log.

Well, things went far better with the social service thingie at my Mom's. Got the second set of car keys from his son, whom worked very well with me today. We tend to agree on how things should be. All papers signed;  Power of attorney signed, everyone in agreement, now just down to bank to get our names on their accts and notarized. Maybe now I can get some things done around here and get some real sleep tonite for the first time in nine days.... :doofus:

Afternoon boys, got here by 10:30. Roads were good except for Co Rd 35 gettin out here. The wind on the east west roads was a different story though. It looked like all the bridges /underpasses, on/off ramps on I 35 had been had from Clear Lake up to Forest Lake / Pine City area. Took us about a hour to plow & blow out what snow we already had.  Not snowin yet but Reb's wedder buddies ;) are sayin 4-5", maybe 6" by noon tomorrow for Bemidji.

Three things everyone should have.
1. Will or Trust.
2. Living Will or Health Care Directive.
3. Durable Power of Attorney

Morning boys. My guess is around 4" of snow up here, but the wind is making it horrible. Some big drifts coming over the hood of the car on the way in this morning. Had -2 this morning. Not much else happening. Have a good one.

Mornin guys, it's 4* here with ~ 4" on the ground & a 10+ mph wind. We had 3 porties & the neighbor (skid house), across the bay, were out on the bay yday pm. It looked like the 3 sleds with the pop-ups shelters all came out of the resort 2 doors down. Stay warm( close to a 50* temp (WC) drop since we got here yday), drive careful if you have to go out. Probably won't be much goin on here today as just goin down to get the mail might be a bit of a adventure, as we have a long(~ 600') driveway. Have a good 1, everybody

I think the over-hyped snow-ma-gedon event kept the amateurs home.

Looks like 4-6" here.  Lots of wind so it is drifting quite a bit.  Not sure if it is actually snowing or not anymore.  The new old Dodge plowed it up great!  Sure beats the ATV with plow on it.  Although that was great for many years.

Radar looked like it was almost done so we went out & dug out again around 10, before it gets -25 to -35 WC's. I'd say it was close t 5" here. Heard on the tube that the heaviest amounts up here were on a line from GR to Hibbing & Ely
