Coffee, Reb, you and your moms are in my prayers.  Lent starts today.  Its a good time to be thinking of others instead of myself.

Please, guys, remember my dad also.  He's dealing with emphysema.  It ain't ever goona get better, it keeps getting worse, and a bout of pneumonia could finish him without warning.  Pre-arranging arrangements sucks.

Mornin boys, 19* here. Coffee, Reb, Steve-o thinkin of you. We had to make a emergency run to town yday about noon so we picked up a few groceries while there. Too windy to  :fishing: anyway, pretty sure we seen 28 on the car on the way home. Mid to upper 30's for today with maybe 1" of snow overnight. Need to finish off yday's project before anything else gets started today. Might go drill a few holes after that, see how it goes. Take care guys, hoping you have a day .

Thanks guys. Means a lot to me. Gonna be hell for all involved today.  22* and sunny here, but it's not helping my mood. Coffee, hope things improve for you and your Mom. Good idea on the pack a lunch thing; I'm diabetic so don't need to crash on top of everything else. I will do that. This kinda stuff seems to be "going around" right now, talked to three different people yday that are going thru the same thing.
Anyway, the rest of you have a good day and enjoy that wedder warm-up.

Prayers sent for you three and your parents. Dealing with the aftermath from all that a while back, I can empathize.

Beautiful morning here (24) after a day that was warmer but caused a lot of blowing snow to stick on the roads. That caused a lot of excessive salt use this a.m. when the crap will probably be gone by noon anyway!  Got my tractor back home yesterday with cab attached. Lotsa stuff to fix on the tractor but the neighbor lad who worked on it got 'er in ship shape mechanically. He seems to have an uncanny ability to work on junk.  :cheesy: LED lights really light things up & don't draw much juice. It is nice to have a cab with a heater. It was breezy yesterday so it was raw out in the wind. Sat in the cab for a while with the heat on and had to pinch myself. About that time I heard a buzzing noise coming from the heater fan. All  the sudden it puked a mummified mouse out of the vent! Had to laugh & wonder how many more of them there will be to entertain me.   ;)

You guys won't believe it. Social Services are sending her RIGHT BACK HOME...."because there is no medical need to place her"...WTF???! Last nite at 9:00 PM they said they were placing her TODAY, and now the one I talked to gets argumentative and said "Who said that?" ! Her mental state is toast...Them: "Well, that's up to you to talk to placement people and facilities, and fill out all the LTC forms".....Me: I DID ALL THAT TWO WEEKS AGO!!!!   Them: "Well, then you need to go talk to various places to get her in" Me: But she refuses to go, and states she'll die before that happens, and no one is going to touch her!!!" "I thought you were supposed to HELP ME WITH THAT!!"  "Them: "I'm sorry, we can't help you with that.." Holy jesus M*%^%$&$#%$$###!!!!!!!
Social Services is the biggest pile of worthless stinking' trash on the face of this planet, and I can't wait until I see them later today...I don't give a rat's azz if I end up in jail. I cannot go thru 10-15 screaming, nonsensical calls every single day of my life coupled with the numerous requests to responds to the 3x a week police calls.........seems their only concern is helping "diverse" people suck off the government, suck the system dry, and get crap for free.

Been there, done that!! With BOTH sections of Olmsted County Social Services, and Mayo Social Services!!! Just talked to THREE different memory care homes, and they're all full, and the rest do NOT take the medicare elderly waiver payments...said you'd have to move her out of Rochester to maybe even FIND a place!...ya, right!  So yer just plain and simple screwed until they do something at home that causes them great injury or death, or the house burns down. This is a hell of a great f**n system we got here.

First I want to thank everyone for their prayers and well wishes for mom. Between them and mom being a stubborn old German woman they worked. Two days  ago for 3 minutes she was clinically dead until they restarted her heart and was on a respirator for 2 days in critical care. Today I get to the hospital and she was in a sitting in a chair with the TV on and respiratory off. She whispered to me that she was in pain but ok and the next thing she said was I have 7 months to get better so I  can go up to lake vermilion in September. All I can say is unbelievable. Reb, Steve -o, RH and everyone else I hope all works out for y'all and we'll send prayers to you and your families. I was never a religious person but... I'm thinking of starting. I guess all I can say to everyone is to keep the faith. Y'all have a good eve.
if you kick me when I'm down you better pray I don't get up.

Glad to here your Mom is progressing the right direction Coffee. Rebs all I can say is it sucks dealing with the gubmit. All they want to do is suck the tax payer dry and not do a dam thing when you need them too. Unless you are in the welfare line. I hope things go better for you. Well, had 19 dis morning and it loos like the temp will tumble throughout the day. Just another day in paradise. Have a good one boys!

Mornin gents, 24* when I peeked a bit ago. Awesome Coffee, glad things are looking up in Pa., hope it continues. :happy1: Don't know what to say to you Reb, except that I hope it gets better. I have to agree with JB about dealing with the bureaucrats. :bonk: :mad1: :angry2: Our project didn't go very good yday so I didn't get out. :fishing: Supposed to have had some snow overnight but I couldn't see where we' had any new on the ground. Falling temps all day & -20 to -30 WC's tonight & Friday night, they're sayin. Probably not much goin on outside today here, have to find somethin indoors. Have a good day.

I don't follow the Good Morning thread as much as other things on the cooking forum (actually I haven't been posting much at all, lately) but I've been reading the last couple of days.  Said prayers for all you guys at Ash Wed. mass last night, along with all the families in Florida.  We're a Catholic family and go to church pretty regularly but I wouldn't' consider myself overtly religious. However, It definately felt right being in Church last night.

Coffee - It sounds like you got one tough momma.  Great to hear that she's back from the brink and that she has goals.

Reb, I can't even imagine it, buddy.  Hang in there and stay strong.  I think I'm a little younger than most on here.  My parents are retired and I'm blessed in the fact that both in good health and active.   I cherish every day with them, it can all change in an instant!
