Geez Roony you kind of scare me now.   :rotflmao:  Kind of agressive to club the heck out of an already dead squirrel isn't it?   :rotflmao:  I shoot them right out of the bird feeder.  There are a few bullet marks on the feeder.  Those CB Longs are what I use.  When I was sighting in on a box in the driveway today the wife as home.  She said are those blanks?  The chicadees in the feeder about 12' from me weren't even scared as I was shooting.  They don't shoot far but are as quiet as a pellet gun.  Actually have quite a punch since the lead is going so slow.  Instead of zipping right through them.  I think 750 fps vs 1200 for regular .22's   ??

Seems a little too "hands off" to me.

Good morning boys.  Yup we got another 3" here.  I don't want to plow and make a mess of my long gravel driveway so I am going to just leave it alone.  So it will be a slushy mess now for a few days.  Looks like the warm up will start on Sat.  The wife is ordering our meds a little early just to make sure it gets done with the emergency status of so many things these days.  My brother wanted to come up and do some tip up fishing for big nords and I had to tell him we don't want any visitors and that we aren't going anywhere neither.  Felt bad doing it but I know he isn't taking this serious.  We are!  I see a child in Mandan just tested positive.  Well be safe all of youse and have a great day!

Mornin' gang! 37 at choretime heading for a high in the mid-40's. .01" od rain at the ranch & .02" in Bugtussle proper. Have been some intermittent heavy showers since dumping the gauges with the main course on the way. 3/4" - 1" of rain forecast followed by 1" - 2" of snow. Chains are still on the tractor but not planning on hooking up to the blower again. Hopefully they're right about the rain:snow ratio. Will rip the snot out of the yard if I have to move snow. With the weather getting ugly, laid in a little more antibiotic for the barns. Great pneumonia weather.  Saw the pheasant slinking back from the CRP on his way to the plum thicket. He looked tired. Wonder why?  :rotflmao:

If ya get down this way, swing on in. I planned to trim the giant yew out front with my razor sharp hedge-trimmers, and I could give ya a haircut at the same time. We can't go up to Charlie's, but I can grill ya up a mean Morgan's brats!  Just 4 left! :rotflmao:

A haircut would be swell. Hair isn't to my shoulders yet but I've been eyeing my handshears or even the weedeater if it comes to that. Was just in Morgan's yesterday. Got some more of their dinner franks. First batch I got was delish! About a foot long and double the diameter of a regular weenie. A little easier to manage on a charcoal grill that way. Just hope glenn and del have a good time up north at the casinos!  ;)

First tow comes up Mississippi    :happy1:

LAKE CITY, Minn. — The Motor Vessel Miss Doris, originating from the Quad Cities in Iowa and Illinois and pushing 12 barges en route to St. Paul, entered Lake Pepin at 10:30 a.m. Wednesday, March 18, and passed Lake City about noon.

“Lake Pepin on the Mississippi River is the last major barrier for vessels reaching the head of the navigation channel in St. Paul,” said George Stringham in a written statement from the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers, St. Paul District. “The lake is the last part of the river to break up, because the river is wider and subsequently the current is slower there than it is at other reaches of the river. If a tow can make it through Lake Pepin, it can make it all the way to St. Paul.”

In 2018, the first tow came through April 11, and last year, with the late and harsh winter, the first tow didn't make it through Lake Pepin until April 24.

The St. Paul District maintains a 9-foot navigation channel and operates 12 locks and dams to support navigation from Minneapolis to Guttenberg, Iowa.

“Keeping this system open is vital to the nation’s economy,” Stringham wrote. “The commercial navigation industry estimates an annual average savings of nearly $270 million by using the inland waterways instead of overland shipping methods.”

Morgan's is located in New Richland MN. I don't know if they ship stuff but you can always inquire.  :happy1:
