Snow I have not seen a bear in the pasture with the horses.  I have seen the fence smashed down like one had been there though.  When a coyote or a deer is around the horses really stare at them.  Then they run toward them.  Foxes don't seem to bother them.

Interesting LP, I  have pics from a rancher friend in MT he sent me few years back when he was running his fences for repairs,he came across a young black bear making a move to take down a young calf, didn't go so well for the bear as the pic's show the adult cows protected the young calf, even head butting the young bear between two cows, kinda funny the last pic was the bear leaving with his nead hanging down in shame.

What about wolves or a lion? gotta be some passing thru your area.do you check for tracks in your pasture? just curious.

Had a wolf come through the yard along the river about 8 years ago.  Didn't look like he was afraid of a thing.  Took the same path the bears do.  Except all of the bears are heading east and the wolf was heading west.  The coyotes do have a specific route.  Mainly along the fences I guess.

Morning boys.  Not often that I get to be the first one to post.  I had to get up early to bring Cooper to the Vet so they can do his inverted eye again.  Him and Buddy are boring holes in me with their eyes wondering why I am not feeding them.  LOL  Buddy will get his after we leave.  Cooper can't have any.  It's about an hour and a half away. Nice morning drive.  You all have a good one.

Morning, warm and not much dew this morning. Speaking of critters, I saw two young red fox come out of my machine shed when I walked out of the house.

Mornin' gang! 72 at choretime heading for a high in the low 90's. Fat man warnings out again today. Gotta get a haircut, finish an article & pull some rootworm beetle traps out of a couple corn fields this forenoon. This afternoon I'll probably rake hay in or on a tractor with no AC. Be wearing my best pair of Speedo's & that's about it. Getting tired of this weather too.  :pouty:

We used to use them JB but they don't do horses.  I switched to Greenbush Vet Clinic cuz they do horse castrations, floating teeth etc.  They send me the horses and dog shots unless we need rabies which they need to administer.  If they will be doing work around Baudette I can meet them at someones farm too.  Or else just schedule when they are in the area.  Snow I had to wait 5 weeks to get this done to Cooper.  They are all busy.

Morning boys. 63 here heading for 80 today and no rain.  :pouty: Yah LPS, forgot that you used the Greenbush vet. All we ever have had to take care of are dogs and cats. Greenbush is a bit of a drive. One thing about living in BFE, better be willing to drive. Because nothing is close. Spent the evening water trees with the skid loader last night. I back right into the water and scoop a bucket full and then go dump it on the ground around the trees. Usually 2 buckets per tree. Sure wish we would get some decent rains. Well, just another day in the salt mines. Have a good one boys.

Morning boys.  Hey that is a good way to do it JB.  Cloudy and a little breezy this morning.  Cooper is much more chipper today.  His bottom eyelid droops way down.  That is all part of it and will tighten up as time goes on.  I bet he appreciates being able to see better now.  Hooking up the camper today so we can leave early tomorrow morning to go get the new one.  Gonna be a marathon drive.  286 miles each way.  Can't remember the last time I did that many miles in a day.  The wife is coming along but I doubt she will drive pulling the camper.  LOL  At least she is good company.  That guy that killed his wife near Oklee is still at large.  They think he is on foot and are offering a $10,000 reward for him.  Keep your eyes peeled.  Maybe a hungry bear got him.
