Morning boys. 63 here heading for 64 today. We ended up with 1.61 inches of rain at home. Spent the weekend down at hunting camp. Was a good weekend. Got the ole 720 JD running again. Put new points and cap on it. We got lots of work done. Turned my box stand into a platform that I will put a ground blind on it for a year or 2. Then I will build an enclosed stand. Well, back to work today and them tomorrow I am supposed to have the cataract surgery on my left eye. Otherwise just another day in the salt mines. Have a good one boys.

Mornin' gang! 46 at choretime heading for a high in the mid-60's You guys up north get all the rain... :pouty: Drier than a popcorn fart here but at least it cooled down. Corn is coming off rapidly. Drying isn't taking long so they can really fly. They can also turn it black in a hurry so we need to stay ahead of them soil sampling. Impossible but it's nice to dream.

Had a helluva cruise in the Stude yesterday. Went to the National Eagle Center at Wabasha, ate lunch across the river at the Nelson Hotel & Bar (their homemade fries are the best) then cruised down the WI side of the river & went back across at Winona. Went down to La Crescent then back thru Houston, Rushford, Lanesboro, Preston & Spring Valley A&W where we stopped for root beer floats. Then back to greater Bugtussle. 350 miles, lotta downshifting & 60 - 70 mph driving.

Stude had only one slight hiccup: When we were waiting on the slant to get on the bridge to cross into WI, had to keep my foot on the brake for an extended period of time. When we finally got across the battery wasn't charging. Was nervous while we ate but when we started 'er back up after lunch, all was well again. Guessing one of the contact points on the Chinese voltage regulator might've been stuck. Prolly a changeover to an alternator in its future. Fall color was disappointing. No real pockets even yet, more like subtle hints here and there.  Gotta feeling the leaves are just gonna fall off without much fanfare the way it's going.

Hey Dotch, curious about your "drive about" been years since I hunted ducks on the back waters of la Cresent but every fall local folks always fished from the shore along the hiway heading back to winona, big sunfish at the time, was this still going on or is the water to low and not up to the road?It was  fall bite.

To be honest snow, I wasn't paying a lot of attention to what was going on in the river. Had my hands full trying to figure out what the tour leader was doing. When he didn't stop to put on gas in Winona, it made some of us nervous. Leaving there, I was below a 1/4 tank. While my gauge has been pretty reliable, ( I once put 18.1 gals. in it; it holds 18) I don't want to trust it the one time I shouldn't have. Everyone made it to La Crescent OK but the guy in front of me with the big block Chevy in his '70 Chevelle SS was runnin' on fumes!

Afternoon boys.  Did a run to the landfill this morning.  Fun to see the guys out there.  The sun just came out here so time to get out and get something done.  Pretty wet here yet.  We got right at 2" of rain here over the weekend.  JB good luck on the eye program.  Curious to hear all about it.  I have it coming up sometime in the future.

well a friend came over and we just got the dock in...   been looking at the garage door opener that locked up last night and I think it's junk...  almost 20 years old but still... when I opened it last night it went about 6 inches further than normal..  hit the button it just hums for a couple seconds and that's it...  so open and close it the old fashioned way till it gets replaced....

Not sure which rear end he's got in it or what tranny he's got it matched up with Reb (not stock) but I do know it sure loves its gas! Not the 1st time & wouldn't be my choice for a long cruise. He's got all kinds of cars and is constantly swapping or buying different ones. Same guy also has a '59 Chevy 2 door boat that's a lot more economical, better riding & a beautiful car but he twisted the driveshaft off of that earlier this year... :doah:

Morning all. (I think it is) 55* and too dark to see if it's cloudy or clear.
Lotsa stuff to do today...groceries, cemetery run, take truck in for oil change, filter and tire rotation on Mr. Sparkles, (Ford keeps sending me these nice coupons) then home to do some underhood checks and air filter replacement and other techie things I won't let the dealer even touch. Got all the outside stuff pretty much wrapped up. Now just wait for he leaves to fall...gonna be a real late mow'em up & mulch year, I think. Just starting to Fall. Hard rains tomorrow; then 'sposed to be a low in mid 30's Friday nite/Sat morning....that oughtta get 'em falling. Makes me really miss my Fall crappie fishing, now that my fishing buddy is too busy with his $200,000 "cabin".
Have to say good luck today on your eye surgery, JB. You'll be amazed what a piece of cake that is, and the 20/20 vison the next day. Had both mine done years ago. And the colors....boy! Like getting a new color TV!  :rotflmao:
Have a good one guys.

Looks like a busy day Reb. I need to fix a gutter on the West side of the house today and finish scraping a couple of windows and doors on the garage attached to house so they can be painted (hopefully) before it gets too cold. Did manage to get in a short round of golf yesterday and it was a great evening for the high school kids to shoot last night. Have a great day everyone, later... :happy1: :happy1:

Morning boys. 50 here this morning heading for upper 50s today. Thanks for the well wishes on the rye surgery. You are right about the colors Rebs. Had my right eye done in March and it is crazy the difference between the two. Now after today the should match. I don't have to be in Grand Forks until 11:20. Man and I can't eat nothing until after. I am already hungry. Can't drink anything either. Going to be a long morning. Well, just sitting here waiting for the wife to get up. Have a good one boys.

:rotflmao: :rotflmao: :rotflmao: :happy1: :happy1:  Morning boys.  It's a calm clear day here.  Moving a corner of the fence line of the horse pasture so my snow plowing will be much easier.  Will finish it today.  Getting cooler out.  I looked at the longer range and by deer season we will have highs in the 30's.  Better take the boat out before I go hunting.  Can always put it back in for a day or two if it gets nice out.  Well you all have a great day!

Mornin guys, 48* here & movin towards 63* later. Got to quite bit of my list yday, even messed with the leaves along the drive but they' were pretty wet so they'll need some more work. I'd like to get another round of mowing at least started today that way I can begin to change the Husqvarna over to snow machine. It's not hard but just takes a little time & is worth getting it right the 1st time. It cleared off ~ 4 yday & the wind went down so the neighbor wanted to have a little HH out on the drive again  as he's leavin for few days today. No more now, hopin your Tuesday's a good 1!!

Mike I’m ten miles north of park Rapids in Emmaville. Shouldn’t have been any issues there. Thanks for asking.

Mornin' gang! 55 at choretime heading for a high in the mid-60's. Good luck on your surgery JB! Lots of paperwork & banking stuff to do this a.m. before shoveling screenings at a couple places this afternoon. A lot of crap to move out of the way to get at the wagon first. Made the print deadline on the column so at least there's that. Now if the wife will kick it into gear and pick up a couple bags of feed we should be golden. Ta ta!

With my 10% discount...oil and filter change....$50! What a racket! 'Course, Mr. Sparkles does haveta have 7 Qts of slippery juice...  Too tall to get it up on ramps in garage with sheetrocked ceiling anymore, and I'm too busted up and creaky to do it anymore, anyway.
