Saw a few snowflakes when I let Poppy out over lunchtime. Too early for that crap.

Just got dark here and starting to rain.  The wind was blowing but is really gusting here now.

Finished a project I started a couple days ago. Dug out an old anvil from the corner of garage and decided to clean it up. Turns out it may be from the mid 1800s. It’s a Armitage Mouse Hole 102#. Did a little reading up on it and then wire brushed the snot out of it and then rubbed it down with boiled linseed oil. Looks cool.
Love the old anvils. I have a Hay Budden that weighs 133 lbs. I ought to get it all spiffed up like yours.

I went down to the union hall to meet the guy that bought them goose decoys. Visited for a bit.

Man that hwy 10/169/101 interchange is a mess.

We had a $25.00 gift card to Cabela's so I went over there with the sole intention of getting  3XL blaze orange hooded sweatshirt. Man did I leave disappointed. They had jack sh!t for blaze orange. About the only way I ever see myself going back in there would be another gift card

I'll go to Scheels.

The neighbor just came back up & he travels that route. He mentioned that Cabela's & said the same thing.  He's closer to the Scheels in Eden Prairie though.

Morning boys. 37 here and heading for 39 today. Seen some flakes this morning. Windy here too. Cabela's doesn't ever seem to have much for blaze orange. Not even online do they have a great selection. Fire up the wood boiler last night. That helped take the edge off in the house last night. The house should be all nice and toasty by the time I get home tonight. The floor was starting to get warm this morning. Well, just another day in the salt mines. Have a good one boys.

Morning boys.  36 here and 39 is our high for the day.  41 tomorrow.  We are in a snow forecast here today.  Under an inch expected.  What is up with that?   SO not a lot will be going on here today and that is ok.  I will read a good book that I started. Cabelas sure went down hill with the BPS merger.  I too don't even look at their site anymore.  I go Scheels too.  When they quit buying Ice Rigs I dropped them too.  Used to be a great place.  Well you all have a good one.

Mornin all, 37 & windy here as well, 40 is s'posed to be our high. We had some light rain between Cohasset & DR yday on our way back here about noon. It rained pretty good after we got back here too, but it didn't last long. TWC's site says we might get as much as an inch of the white stuff in the next 48 hours.  The new mower is in the garage & I'll probably start turnin it into our blower today. We haven't shopped at Cabela's very much for a long time either, at least 10 years. No more now, stay warm & have a good day.

LPS if you are looking for easy reads this winter look into the Joe Pickett series of books by C.J. Box. Over 20 books in the series so you will have enough to keep you going between naps.

I am not a fan of winter. I'm already looking forward to spring.

Rookie that anvil was a fun project. If you have a few hours to burn, a couple of wire wheels and some boiled linseed oil go for it. Snowflakes at my place when I left at 7:00 this morning, got up here Hubbard Co, the roofs were white. Got an important project done here this morning. The heating guy was here already and done with the new chimney by 9:30. I’m a happy camper again.  :happy1: :happy1:

Mornin' gang! 37 at choretime heading for a high in the mid-40's. Snow showers here earlier this a.m. Thought at first it was beeswings from the corn dryer but the wind is the wrong direction for that. The flakes got bigger too leaving no doubt. More soil sampling on tap but think I'll find my coveralls & make a feed run 1st to get that out of the way. Of course that also means spending time playing with the puppy. Hate when that happens... :whistling:

Morning boys.  Snow on the ground here and 34 now.  What have I got myself into today.  My farmer friend asked me to come and help with calves today.  The vet will be doing shots etc and I will keep them moving down the alley to the chute.  It's cold out!!!   Put my thin long underwear on for this project.  Rain mixed with snow expected too.  Cooper already knows something is up cuz I don't have my sweats on.  lol  Poor boy will be stuck at home...  Should be done with my thing by noon.  The nap will feel great today.  Later.

Mornin boys, 33 here last I looked & we may hit 42 later. Parts of the yard are white & it's still lightly snowing. We never made 40 here yday either. I mulched the leaves down on the end of our driveway with the old mower then started on the new mower to blower changeover after that. Helped the neighbor put his duck boat in after lunch too. Got a couple things I can do on new mower without having to deal with the weather so that's where I'll start today. 'Bout it here, have a good Friday.

Roads were good and the grass was white at the 694/494 split. Only traffic snarl was at the tunnel but not bad!

Don't watch too much local news lately (learn all I need to know here ;) ), so I didn't have no warning.

...a couple of tiny flakes before 5AM when I let the dogs out and next time I wake up... everything is covered.    :doah:

Tooo early for this schtuff.

Mornin' gang! 36 at choretime heading for a high in the mid-40's. Outside water tank was frozen over. Some occasional snowflakes every once in a while. It's that time of year again. Maybe it'll do like it did in 1981 when I lived in ND. Snowed, got everything white, & froze everything up on Oct. 9th. Was cold and crappy for a week then turned nice until Thanksgiving. Was sure cold with the wind yesterday out soil sampling. Was in my insulated bibs and a lighter winter jacket. As long as I was moving I stayed warm. Sampled nice but was glad to get back inside.
