Good morning all.  3 here this morning.  More boat project work planned for the day.  Rebuilding/painting the consoles and wiring is the plan for today.   Found out that I am NOT a carpet layer.  Flat surfaces no problem but had no idea there were so many angles in boat carpeting.

Glenn I read the other day that Holst on the IDO site sold the business and won't be doing anymore fishing shows.  Got an offer he couldn't refuse.  He will still be involved in the business it sounds.
When I watched it a week or two ago he said it was their last show. Kind of sad really. Always liked that show.

morning fellers....slept in and felt good. didnt get my dotch nap in yesterday after working the store. :pouty: about the only time i snooze during the day. not sure what i got planned yet.

i see my phone is blowing up with the weather warnings already!!! :bonk: :bonk:

regardiing IDO.....the way i understand it he is no longer doing the fishing show, but i believe some others may take it over. he got involved in a new lithium battery outfit called "NORSK" So he could spend more time with his family. Like HD he is involved in his site, unlike Rick from the other place!!!!!! there is a really good group of guys there but there are also a bunch that like to do nothing but argue and stir up sheet.

i do know a few of them thatcome here and read it, the one that sent methat funny i posted even told me that last nite via text!!!

:tut: :tut: :tut: Just waiting for a really nice juicy Lotzza Motzza to mail to CS... :coffee:

Mornin' comrades! 31 at choretime heading for a high in the mid-30's. Getting a little peek at the sun presently. We'll take it. Continuing to melt snow at a slow pace and I'm fine with that. Probably increases the odds that we'll get some soil moisture benefit out of it. Made my copy deadline so will see what other kind of mischief I can get into. Should make a trip to town, get the mail, do a couple things at the office then get my gravity box out where the feed truck driver can easily get at it. Talked to the chief over at Matawan Elevator yesterday. The delivery charge is less than I thought. Will save a couple hours and about 32 miles round trip pulling an old wagon that trails like crap. Just hope I can maneuver the wagon with the skidsteer so I don't have to unhook the blower from the tractor. With snow likely for Thursday, I'd rather not.

I am finding this out.  We have her torn down all the way to the hull including all the wiring and hoses.  The wood parts are the easy part.  The most time consuming is the tearing it all down and the prep work to put it all back together.  Give me a spray gun and I can paint about anything but that carpeting....about kicking my arse.

how are you doing the carpeting???? are you carpeting the wood before putting it back in the boat?? we found if you cut the wood to size, glued and someplaces stapled the carpet to the wood it was to big to fit and had to trim the wood back to allow for the carpet thickness!!!!!!!

i dont have a console so that didnt matter.  my boat was all aluminum so i didnt do any painting!!!! as far as the wiring everything looked good cept for a few connections!!!!!! same with any plumbing/hoses. i've had to fix some of that since, but my boat is readyto rip once open water exisists!!! :happy1:

Carpet is strictly glued on the consoles and rod locker as they are aluminum.  There are a couple places we are going to install new carpet on the side of the boat as well.  The tops of the consoles have been sprayed with liquid vinyl spray.   The instrument console was rebuilt and vinyl wrapped in brushed aluminum.    Gunnel has been prepped for repainting.

We thought about leaving all the wiring and hoses but figured since we were this far into it we may as well just change them.  I hate electrical issues on the water.

The flooring we are going to be using is spray on a marine Tuff Coat Rubber over wood and aluminum.

When I bought my new Lund a couple of years ago the first thing I wanted was no carpet on the floors.  It is on the sides which isn't too bad.  Love the floor with no carpet.

We are installing a washdown system as well just to try and keep that floor clean.  Carpet on the floors looks nice right up until the first 20 oz of coffee, some mashed minnows, fish blood and crawler mud get on it.

I have an 2020 1800 Sport Angler.  Love it.  Even a little sink in the back of it.  I do like the wash down hose a lot.

Nice boat.   We thought about replacing the bait well in the back, that we never use, with a sink too.   Just handy to have sometimes.

Goofy question, but why would you need or want a sink in a boat???

All you need to do is reach over the side of the boat and you got all the lake water ya need?! bring a pail with??

Not a goofy question at all.   Just a few times it is handy to use a sink to change bait water and to wash misc boat items.   Mostly when staying in remote areas.   And yes we could just reach over but...

Morning boys.  Like JB said it is snowing here. Have a little wind and it is 24.  Not bad.  Another dog toy arrived and it lasted the whole night and is still intact.  It is all hard rubber and Cooper loves it.  We shall see.  Not a lot going on today.  Started reading a good story on my Kindle last night.  Felt good and had a hard time putting it down to go to bed.  That will keep me busy today too.  Be careful out on those roads!

Mornin' comrades! 32 at choretime heading for a high in the mid-30's. No snow here yet and they've backed Snowmageddon down a tad. Got my gravity box cleaned out and parked where the feed truck guy should be able to get at it easily. Hope he gets here in the forenoon as the odds of snow increase later in the day. Be waiting around just in case. Also the ground is likely to thaw again and it's a slimy mess where I have to back the wagon in. Otherwise today I have another webinar to tune in. Think it's something I'm actually interested in rather than saving the planet with cover crops & soil health. You vill eat zee bugs!!!!  Their stupid QR code thingy better work this time so I can get CEU credits. Being the techno-savvy person I am I'm sure it couldn't be my fault... :rotflmao:
