Morning boys. 26 here and seems like the middle of winter with the snow here.  I am still holding with my no plow agenda.  Last I saw 37 is where we will end up today.  47 would be nicer.  I guess a nice slow melt so it won't be as muddy may work too.  How's that for trying to find the bright side of this crap?  Nice that it is Sat so the wife is here and we can share a pot of 50/50 coffee.  As close as I get to the real stuff.  The fox is hanging around so she probably has young ones nearby.  Cooper puts the run on her now and then but she can ditch him pretty easily.  That is a good thing.  We like having them around to keep the rodent numbers at a low.  When we moved here the pasture was 4' tall and there were more mice and voles than I have ever seen.  In the garage, the barn and everywhere outside.  The dogs were eating them like candy.  Pretty gross when the tail was still sticking out of their mouths.  Must not have swallowed them yet.  LOL   Well the coffee is about ready.  See ya all later.

Mornin guys, 32 now , goin for 42, & there's a pretty good NW(~20) wind already. My 10 day says we won't hit 50 here 'til Monday. More like Tuesday or Wednesday up at the lake. Ran into some heavier rain which quickly turned into a short, intense blast of graupel on my way to HH around 5 yday. We worked on the new steps out in the garage yday AM. Some putzin to do early today but that's about it. Hopin your Saturday's a good 1.

We like them around too. Like LPS said they are good mousers. I seen 3 fox out on the ice together this winter. Neighbor said that they den under his shed on their backlot. Well here to waiting to get around the corner to spring. It is a long one. Have a good one boys.

Good morning All.   23 here this morning with a stiff north wind.  Hard to believe that 6 months ago we were welcoming this ice making weather  A few of us were actually hoping it would get colder so we could get out on the ice....just 6 months ago.  Now. not so much.  Its time to get out the boats and get on the water.  Good day for a shop cleaning day.

Mornin' comrades! 30 at choretime heading for a high near 40. Some occasional snow freezing & freezing drizzle during chores but looks like that's out of here. At least it's cloudy with a NW wind at 20 mph gusting to 25. .02" of precip between graupel, snow & freezing drizzle at the ranch. Not a lot but it's not drying up much either. Need to make a feed run then grab a few things at FF. By then the morning should be pretty well shot. Could pull a glenn & cozy up on the couch this afternoon. Maybe Poppy will sleep on my feet like she's doing right now. Feels nice and toasty.  :happy1:

Morning boys.  We were having a fun day yesterday and decided to do a walk-about since it got so nice.  That means graining the horses cuz Cooper and Bucko have this chase each other thing going on a times.  Well no Jiggsy.  Here he was dead in the pasture by the hay bales.  Has been looking skinny so I wormed them last week and have fed him more oats.  I was worried about him.  Bucko just went and stood by him.  We both broke up and talked to Jiggsy and said goodbye.  My good neighbor came and got him for us.  Bucko wasn't happy about the whole deal neither.  They were pretty good friends.  He looks ok this morning just eating hay all by himself.  Life goes on.  He was about 28-30 years old.  It was his time.  Other than that it is going to be a great day today.

Mornin' comrades! 29 at choretime heading for a high in the low 40's.  Have a pancake breakfast in Albert's Leaf in a bit then see what transpires from there. Lots of crap to clean up around the yard. Grass is slowly moving closer to mowing time. Sorry to hear about your horse Barry. Had ponies as a kid. Have thought about getting a guard donkey for the sheep but I digress. My brother & sister both are horse people so have seen how they've been affected when they lose one of their animal family. My sincerest sympathy.

It's "clean up my paperwork day" from Friday's gun bingo today. With the exception of getting people in the door faster than we did it went well. I expected 150 to 180 people, we had just under 300 show up. I was flabbergasted (that means surprised glenn) to say the least. Then I need to pick up some large branches in the yard. Went to the Jim Jordan Chapter MDHA banquet Saturday night. Won a nice Kal-Tec 22 mag pistol. It weights 14 oz. without shells in it and came with two 30 round clips, oopps I didn't say that, came with two 10 round clips is what I meant. Thinking it might be a good critter pistol around the homestead. Have to see how it shoots later today. Sorry to hear about your horse Barry, put my 15 year old springer down the day before Christmas Eve. Was tough for me. Got to go, later......... :happy1: :happy1:

Morning boys.  Off to the big city (Bemidji) again.  Med checkup for the wife.  I will just kill time whilst there.  33 here already.  I need to get her a muscle car so we can get there faster.  A nice ol GTO would be cool.  I had a couple of them when I was younger.  Both got me in trouble too.  Maybe not a good idea.  LOL  Well better get going.  Later boys.

We had an Impala for years and the wife certainly knew how to make it go.  ;) You can get in trouble with that too.

Mornin' comrades! 31 at choretime heading for a high around 50. Another chilly start and will take a good chunk of the day to warm up. Then it will start to cool down. Not drying much so it's making some antsy. Suspect we'll see someone try to mud some crop in about Thursday. That usually doesn't end well but people keep doing it then wonder why their crop sucks...smh. Got some stuff done outside yesterday but it was chilly. Piled some brush from the windbreak that I'd cut last June. Cut up a big hunk of a tree that came down in the yard. It was right in the way of where I'll want to dump the loads of debris off the yard in the pile. Someday I'll need to get a burning permit from the People's Republic of Steele Co. Then I can notify the DNR's trash fire Nazis so I can burn some stuff within the 5 minute window the dumb basses will allow it. Ridiculous.

Afternoon peoples,  been real busy to check in. So what year we talkin on goats, Monte's and impala's? Buddy had a 70 goat I believe that was nasty, my 69 superbee was no slouch either. But I sure loved those mid 70's , the cutlass I had got tormented,  put headers on in it and the neighbors hated me, the tire shop loved me!! Man, those were fun days. Anywho....see ya!!!

I had a 67 Blue GTO with a Hurst 4 speed.   That was a big deal back then.  Loved the car.  I think I was about 18 when I got it.  396 in it and they hauled ass.  Too much for a partying guy like me at that age.  Wrapped it around a 66 station sign.  Was totaled so sold the remains to a buddy after the ins. settled.   Later I was about 21 and got a 69 Judge with a 400 in it and the Hurst.  Had Ram Air factory installed so that looked cool.  Partying like rock stars and ran into something with that too.  Got it fixed.  This of course was way before DWI's and we all knew each other so it was Barry get your ass home from the cops.  BUT I had one heck of a good time and didn't hurt anyone.
