How is the wife doing JB?  Do you dare pet the cat anymore?  LOL
The wife is improving. Ya, the cat is still all lovey dovey. He is laying on my lap now. Wife just noticed we can still see ice sheets floating around our to the east on the lake.

The cat didn't like the yelling in pain and excitement and it made him try to get rid of that stress or something like that.  Fight or flight.

Morning boys. 53 here and supposed to make 76 here today it says. We shall see. The lake certainly controls the temp here this time of year.  The wife is getting ready for work and I'm just getting ready for another day on the couch reclined. Have a good one boys.

By the looks of the yellow flowers in the yard I think I may spray it today before the mowing starts. Should be able to see the tire tracks better. Had a fun weekend with the kids (ages 37 to 40) fishing this weekend. Was happy to relieve them of about $60.00 shaking dice. Their idea. Paid for my gas, beer and Friday night rib-eye. Win-win for me. Later..... :happy1: :happy1:

Morning boys.  We had a great weekend.  Did our annual couple of hours fishing with the wife on Mothers Day.  Lots of leaves and crap floating downriver so had to clean our jigs a lot.  Both had a few bites and the wife got a 17" walleye.  That made my whole weekend.  We had it with salad for lunch.  She is a pretty good fisher.  We have a huge ash tree by our house that I should have turned into firewood a few years ago.  Now it is leaning towards the house so the local tree guy is coming today to look at it.  That is the tree that fills my gutters with crap spring and fall so a couple good reasons to cut it down.  I will enjoy burning it next winter.  Man it is hazy out.  Must be from smoke.  I'm trying to find maps/chart of fires in Canada and MN.

Mornin guys, 45 here & we'll end up ~ 80. I stirred up a bunch of dust with the mower yday too. Mowed the front & north sides but the rest is pretty spotty. Spent a little time in the boat & had 1 walleye but it was too big (19.5"), so it went back. The new seed needs a drink so that's where I'll start again today as it's started to pop late last week. :happy1: No more now, have a good day.

Mornin' comrades! 46 at choretime heading for a high in the upper 60's. Another .19" of rain to report at the ranch & .05" in Bugtussle. What is this thing called dust you speak of? Hopefully I can get the mower fired up this week and whip the lawn into condition. A lot of water still in the road ditch so prolly won't be tonite. Need to plop another round bale in the lot tonite. Hope I don't get stuck. Likely cut some nasty ruts. Lot is an absolute quagmire but needs to dry out a little before I can attempt to do much about it. Should dry some the next couple days then showers return again on Thursday. Not supposed to be a washout, again.

I wonder if "Hooterville" had the same connotations as it does today (i.e. Hooter's Grill and Bar) when they put Green Acres and Petticoat Junction on TV.

Morning boys.  Gonna hit about 75 here today.  I told you about talking to my tree guy on Sunday and he showed up yesterday and took down the huge ash tree for us already. Made a big difference.  More sun around the house and on the mound system.  I counted about 70 rings on it.  May have missed a few.  Looks more like a big elm with the nice canopy it had.  It had a 12-13 feet of circumference.  Biggest ash I have seen.  I burned a lot of ash in SW MN and they were only about 12-15" diameter.  The tree was so full of pollen that it was a big green cloud around it when it fell.   Glad to have it done.  Finish mowing today then get the garden ready.  Then attack the tree.  Gonna be a lot of firewood.

Mornin' comrades! 54 at choretime heading for a high in the upper 70's. No rain so I didn't have to monkey with the gauge this morning. Got some poop moved around last nite after chores, dropped a bale in the lot, got the mower out and ran it over a small chunk of the yard. Got a copy deadline to make this a.m. and then gaze at some fields to see how they're coming up. Saw some nice looking stuff yesterday at least where it wasn't under water. I get that done and I'll probably sneak home to mow some more lawn.

Sometimes sad to see a tree like that go Barry but has to happen. We have several ash trees on the south side of the house that were planted long before we bought the place, ~60 years ago. However, they were planted closer to the house than they should've been and they left a row of stinkin' boxelders that I greased out just to their south. The ash had struggled to get sunlight over the top of the boxelders and some of them leaned back towards the house as a result. A couple of the larger ones have been slow to leaf out in the spring, have a lot of dead branches and lose their leaves early in the fall. Need to come down. Already have hackberries and oaks planted to take their place.

Wallet is nowhere to be found. Talked with the hospital yesterday. They didn't have it either.
