Mornin' comrades! 68 at choretime heading for a high in the upper 80's. Another .1" of an inch of rain in Bugtussle and .07" at the ranch since yesterday. Payroll done, made it to the bank & P.O. While I was at the P.O. I saw an old friend who was rumored to have moved here from Chatfield. We sold him a starter flock of sheep many years ago. He & his wife recently retired. Hadn't seen hide nor hair of them until just now. Was kinda fun to catch up a little. Otherwise, looking at the aftermath from more disasters & maybe even get to look at a few decent fields while I'm at it. Careful Barry. Around here, that can be an old wife trick. They tell you they might help by using whatever it is, so you buy it. Then you wind up using it all the time anyway w/o their help. That way they can still feel good about having given you permission to buy it!  :doah:

No AC in our house. Every once in awhile we regret it. Looking like this summer we may regret it a few more times.  :pouty:

We HAD a very expensive mouse near the house.  He built his self a mouse house in the AC Condenser, chewed up all the wires, and fried his self when the capacitor discharged.

We had the choice of spending $1,500 to repair the 14 year-old unit or buy a brand new AC.  Guess what we are getting tomorrow.   :bonk:

We had the happen at our house back when we lived in Becker. We got home from vacation and the wife started the AC. I walked out the back door of the garage and the compressor was running but the fan was not spinning. Yup mouse chewed thru that wire. Laying dead in the bottom. Had a nest with babies too. Needless to say they didn't survive either. I was able to splice the wire and all was good again.

Ceiling fans really make a difference I've found. Just moving the air helps a lot unless it's crazy humid like it is now.

Good morning All.  Got some much needed rain here last night.  T0his morning its 61 and clear.  Heading for another 80s day.   AC here will be on.  I am NOT a hot weather person so I get full use out of the AC unit.  Going to finish haying the yard today.  Got most of it done yesterday just before it started raining.  Then I'm sure I will find something to get in trouble with.

Morning boys.  It is 63 and headed to 87 with a feels like of 93.  Got another half inch of rain and more on the way as I mentioned earlier. Mowing is going to be a full time hobby now.  I have a lot of work to do like mowing the big pasture but way too wet for that.  I thought I would use the Ranger pulling the mower and see how that works.  More comfortable than a wheeler.  Then Tanner can ride along easier.  Well we hit Fleet in Park Rapids to look at those saws.  I was surprised at how heavy they were and that was without the battery in them.  I have EGO blower and weed whip so would have liked to stay with that brand but they didn't have them there.  They had a nice supply of them.  I saw a 16" Stihl regular battery chain saw.  MB120.  It was real light and felt good holding it.  The wife liked it too.  Was more comfortable to hold than the smaller saws.  I think it was $299 with battery and charger.  So glad we got it instead of the little hand held type.  And Dotch,  you are probably right.  She is still saying she wants to try it.  Hope it pans out.  Can't wait to try it.  LOL

I did get a $19.50 pork lion turned into 24, 1" thick pork chops yesterday. Also removed the deck off that newer mower I bought Monday night. The guy said one spindle and the belt was bad. He was right. Someone replaced one of the spindle mounts with the wrong one that is about a 1/2" longer than the other two. Got everything apart and will paint the deck this morning and start putting it back together. Don't have all the stuff I need yet, but can get most of it done. After that I might think about cutting the yard. Later..... :happy1: :happy1:

Mornin' comrades! 68 at choretime heading for a high in the mid-to-upper 80's. Showers and thunderstorms around last nite but none hit the ranch or Bugtussle. Turned the AC this a.m. at the behest of the Mrs. I was fine with opening the windows at nite and closing them during the day but she had other ideas. Put a new filter in, blew in the drain tube in case there were any obstructions & let 'er buck. Seemed to be working when I left for town. Been a lot of visitors in the office this a.m. which means I seem to get even less done than normal. Some of that is fine but too often it's like Ladies Aid. Hope you feel better glenn. Got this crud about 3 weeks ago. Took up until a couple days ago before I started to feel semi-respectable. After gin, sleep is the best medicine. 😴

Last week my son took his (actually it's still mine) 1968 Chevelle up to BIR for the Annual Street Car Showdown race. He complained about the cost of racing and said that before the race, with his car running perfect, it still cost him almost three grand before he could actually get on the track. Car needed to be certified, he needed to renew his license, new seatbelts, kevlar diaper for the motor, nitrous, race fuel, and the list goes on..... Good news is he didn't break anything. lol. The class requires the cars to be street legal and the actuall drive a 12 mile course with occasional stops. To qualify your car must complete the course including stopping and starting. The Chevelle is all glass and steel including bumpers. He runs in the high 8's in the 1/4 mile.

on our way down to the hospital the other day my wife told me the Hardees was closed up here in cold spring. on my home i drove by and sure enough big sign out front said closed.

so anyone driving through thinkin there gonna get a burger there it aint happening. back when they went to drive thru only during the rona  :bs: they never reopened the building to dine-in. heard help was hard to find. now where she heard this from i take with a grain of salt but apparently there were violations that helped in its demise also!!!!

i've maybe ordered food there twice since with the drive thru.........i got this thing with being able to sit down inside to eat if i purchase food someplace.

Morning boys. 67 here too and heading for the 80s also. Although we have only been as high as 77 the last couple of days. The lake has kept us comfortable for sure. So we will see if we get into the 80s or not today. We got a 1\4" of when yesterday evening. Not sure if rain is forecast for today or not?? Otherwise just chilling. Have a good one boys.

Morning boys.  67 seems like the lucky number this morning.  We hit 90 yesterday and should hit 88 again today.  We got another 1/2" of rain last night.  That is 3" in 4 days.  T storms expected today tonight and tomorrow.  The place is looking pretty shaggy and so wet I can't mow.  I should have tried around 7 last night but NAH...  Went for a boat ride and Tanner did real well piloting it.  Had to fuel up the wheelers cuz he keeps them going too.  LOL  Great to have him around.  So our dog Buddy is no longer with us.  So sad.  Cooper sure hangs around me wondering what is missing.  I called the lady where Glenn and I got our wonder dogs and she has 3 Goldens that will be ready in a month.  She also has a batch of yellow Labs that will be ready in a week.  ????   Big decision.  Do we just have one dog for a change or find Cooper a brother?  She will be sending pics today.  Dangerous to even look at them.

He was 13 and I could tell he really loved me.  We got him when he was 6 and he blended right in with us. I will miss him greatly.  We had had him for a week and I was in my ol Ford headed to town.  I see the wife waving her hands in the mirror and here Buddy was having no me leaving him behind.  He was right beside me as I was at the end of the driveway.  I opened my door and he jumped right over me to get in the truck with me.  He loved the wife too but was partial to me.  AND the dogs love the ol Ford.
