Likely not a bad way to go. Many years ago I had an Irish Setter. Beautiful dog. He lived a long happy life. One day I was working out in the yard snd noticed him laying in the sunshine at the base of a big willow tree. My daughter, who was probably about 7 or 8, said to me, “Shane’s dead.”  I told her that no, he was just sleeping.  She was right, and I was wrong. He was about 14 at the time. I’ve had lots of dogs and he had the most peaceful end of life I ever saw.
My current Gordon Setter will be 14 in July and I dread the day that will likely come in the next year or so.

Mornin all, 64 now & headed towards 88. A few sprinkles & some rumbles of thunder all around us but no rain here, either. Got back from the eye clinic by 10:30 yday, it was a 8:15 appt & only took ~ 10 minutes. No more now, stay & have a good day.

Morning boys. 67 here and heading for 80 today it says. We got another 1/4" of rain last night. We have all kinds of projects to hopefully get done this weekend. Pickup is going to get an oil change. Hopefully I can lay on my back and do it. Camper needs to get uncovered and get that ready to go to the Grandson's graduation next weekend. Getting the camper out also means the garage needs to be rearranged so the pickup can park on the other side. Plus the wife needs to finish cutting the grass that she started last night. Sounds like the whip will be doing some cracking.  have a good one boys.

Morning boys.  We got another 1/4" of rain last night.  First when the kid gets up, and he can sleep as long as he likes, will be breakfast and then try some fishing for awhile.  Then back to mowing.  He likes to ride along in the Ranger.  It sure is comfortable with it instead of a wheeler.  At least there is a little shade then.  Well here is a pic of the female Golden that we reserved.  Never had a female before but she has the nicest looking head of the pups available.  Now we are in the naming thing.  Our first dog ever as kids was Marti.   ?????

Mornin' comrades! 68 at choretime heading for a high in the upper 80's. Garnered a whopping .06" of rain at the ranch late yesterday afternoon & at last check, only .01" in Bugtussle. Modest chances later today. What a sweet face on that pup Barry. *cough* Miley *cough* Just me & Poppy for a while until we have a graduation this afternoon. She's enjoying the AC & is sleeping on the cool floor by my feet. I need to make a feed run then will see about more lawn mowing, gardening, fill bird feeders, etc. Or do like glenn when Smurfette is gone, punt, & take a nap...

Same 95 lb father but different mother.  Now we may call her Shelby.   ER Miley.      The pup is darker than our dogs if you noticed.

Morning boys.  It is 65 and calm and sunny here.  Not a cloud in site.  Gonna be 85 with more afternoon T storms.  Yesterday afternoon we got all showered up after our day and sat on the deck.  Was hot but we found shade and turned a fan on us whilst on the deck.  Here it started sprinkling on us.  It felt good but was kind of strange.  LOL  So today we bring Tanner to Park Rapids to meet his father.  It has been a great 4 days with him.  Did a lot of fun stuff and work stuff that we made fun.  Even caught one walleye and missed a few so we had that with our steak.  Didn't stay out long as he had some miles to put on the wheelers. The Grizzly and the Ranger may enjoy some downtime for a few days.  LOL  I just told him you keep riding safely and I will keep pouring gas in them.  He did too.     We always wonder if he will want to come back next year.  He has been with us on or around Mem Day since he was in diapers.  Well you all have a great day too!
