Man our internet is slow as molasses.  Has been all day.  Dotch the surgery isn't till the 14th.  This was a preop thing.  One of my buddies said I should get neutered so I quit overachieving and getting hernias.  Very funny.   :rotflmao: :rotflmao: :happy1:

Was off the grid buttoning up the cabin for the yr over the weekend, not too mention chasing a few roosters.  Managed 5 and missed that many plus lost 2. Maisy the pup really figured it out on private land that actually held birds, sure was fun but the warmth really slowed Remi the 10 yr old down, he's good otta the gate but after a 12 acre field he's looking for some couch..lol. Man is it quiet out lakeside this time a year, I can't wait to move out yonder full-time.  Anywho I gots leaves to chop....See ya!!!

Man the internet starting working great.  My computer is getting old too.  I got the boat out and winterized too.  I have a wash down hose and the pump is behind the starting battery.  Not a real big deal but have to move the battery.  Has real long cables to that's nice.  Then have to lay down and pull this lock to get the hose out of the pump.  Always get a cut or two doing it.  Been thinking of this for a few years and finally did it.  I made a hose connection that I just screw into where the screen is on the transom and put the hose into a gallon of RV antifreeze.  Worked great and took 2 minutes once I figured it out.  I think it is time for a reward.....   At least one.  :rotflmao: :rotflmao: :rotflmao:

Morning boys. 45 here and that is supposed to be the high with some rain this morning. We have had a strong North wind coming off of the lake since yesterday morning. So that tells me water temp is around the mid 40s. The 15 mph wind will keep turning over the water cooling it down. Went and put up a blind last night in one of our hunting spots. May have to try a sit there sometime this coming weekend. Otherwise just getting ready for another day in the salt mines. Have a good one boys.

The Cub Cadet mower and golf cart are in storage for the Winter, boat is next. Found out the "up" button for the trim quit working. May have to look into that today before it goes to Osakis. Have a sneaking hunch I'll be going to FF for a new battery today. Don't think the old one is holding a charge. Oh well, later..... :happy1: :happy1:

Morning boys.  It is wet here too.  No amounts but the deck has been wet all night.  That is good to have moisture in the ground before winter so frost doesn't go so deep.  When there is cracks in the ground water lines are more apt to freeze.  My buddy in Luverne said he had a lot of cracks in the dirt.  Has all summer long.  Well I am feeling good about having everything pretty much winterized.  Think I will take it easy today.  I do have to go to town so that will be the big excitement of the day.  Just told the wife that it feels good to have things done before daylight savings changes.  Well time for more java.  Have a good one.

Mornin all, 43 @ 1st peek here & we might make it all the way up to 48. Got rid of some more of my wood pile yday as I kept it stoked for a good 3 hours. Could feel the rain coming so I mulched a few of the leaves on this end of the driveway too, while I was doing that. We're headed to town today as well. No more now, have a good day.

Mornin' fellow gulag comrades! 70 at choretime with temps falling throughout the day. Down to 54 & overcast. Weather is about to shift gears again. Made 'er home last nite just before 8. Was kinda the vacation that wasn't. In addition to worrying about the pasture fire issues, I had to babysit Bill much of the time. His cognitive and physical issues have markedly worsened. I spent much of the time keeping an eye on him so he didn't fall or do something that might result in him getting hurt. He'd wander off and putter with things. He's shuffling and his strength has noticeably declined. That's never a good sign. Was faster & easier for me to just do the stuff rather than hoping he would after telling me, then forgetting. Prolly time to have a confidential conversation with his wife before the next trip. That & maybe bring another guy like my younger brother along so we can play more, all of us.

Checked out the pasture fire/fence situation this a.m. I expected to see the Great Hinckley Fire according to what the wife had told me. Couldn't see it had burned anything from the road. It torched less than a quarter of the pasture on the east side and didn't burn all the way to the north end. It melted a bunch of the insulators on the posts, some of which the wife replaced, some she didn't. I had some along this a.m. so replaced what I could. Rather than just put a band aid on it, will go back later today to finish it right, then put a grain trough in the pasture. Was something I planned on doing anyway. Can start graining the ewes at nite since I have extra screenings. Plenty of pasture left when I looked at it this morning. The wife started feeding them some hay which was unnecessary but I know her feelings about hay. The hay fairy brings it home and stacks it in the barn, right? Not a problem. The hay fairy will just bring more! It was an emotionally charged decision and frequently those are wrong. She rarely goes to the pasture when I'm gone. I can tell after I get back when the waterer hasn't been cleaned for days or the fencer has been grounded out for a while. As far as the fire, since I am breathing, I was gone, & it inconvenienced the wife, in her book, this was somehow my fault.  :bs:

made it to town and managed to get the things done..  had the tire pressure sensors reset in my car and still bad...   oh well...  they can stay that way until I get new tires...

did see something very funny this morning too!!!   A young fella on a Harley passed me and everyone else on the highway, on the luggage rack in the back was skeleton strapped  to it..  then the fellow had an over sized helmet of sorts that looked just like a carved pumpkin!!!  43 degrees out then too...     :rotflmao: :rotflmao:

Just got back from the neighbor's pasture, assessing the situation & repairing what needed to be finished. glenn, all I can say is Nov. 13th (when she leaves for Louisville) can't come soon enough. I found ample amounts of grass in the pasture so no good reason to start feeding hay there yet. Their waterer there had not been cleaned out likely since the last time I did it a week ago. I see no sheep were washed while I was away either. This was something I kept hearing her brag about getting done when she was talking on the phone prior to my leaving for Canada. I have a feeling the singular "we" will suddenly come into play there.

Morning boys. 39 here and heading for 42. A strong NE wind coming off of the lake today. We joke about the we thing here also. Funny how often I have that turd in my pocket. Well turns out going to be a leave work at noon today. Making a trip over to IFalls. The wife is getting a new car. GM is giving her $3k towards the purchase of a new equinox. So she is going to do it. Should being coming home in a new 2025. So, this whole saga should be coming to a conclusion this afternoon. Otherwise just getting ready for another day in the salt mines. Have a good one boys.

I'm hoping the boat gets to Osakis today and out of the garage. Patio furniture is headed for storage today and the grills will be in the house garage. I did get license and insurance on the F150 so that's ready to go to deer camp and plow snow this Winter. Nobody wanted to buy it. Kinda surprised there. Sat in the yard with for sale sign all Summer until yesterday. Typical for me, buy something for a million dollars, try to sell it a year later and it's only worth $4.82. Later......... :happy1: :happy1:
