Mornin' fellow gulag comrades! 24 at choretime heading for a high in the upper 40's. Another .11" of rainfall the past 24 hrs. at the ranch while garnering another .20" in Bugtussle. Very welcome rain the past couple days. Should allow fieldwork to commence once again. Have to make a trip to Waseca and slip some papers thru the slot at the accountants. Think I'll start taking Fridays off like they do once my SS checks start. Otherwise for today, need to get the mail, pay some bills and deposit some $ at the bank. Just talked to a customer who had been hunting up in my old stomping grounds by Rugby ND. Told me about all the corn piled all over up there. I knew of two fields of corn in that area some 40 odd years ago. We hunted one by Devils Lake one morning. It had been harvested by someone using sunflower pans which worked half fast on corn. We picked up the field dekes by 8 a.m., limited out on ducks and geese. That was livin'... :coffee:

Morning All.   Kind of fallish up here this morning.  36 and a light mist in the air.  Have some outside stuff to take care of today.   Seems like this time of the year we just keep trying to get it all done before winter...fall and winter are late.   Tomorrow is pull the docks day.

Mornin gents, 39 @ 1st peek here & we're on our way to 46, they're sayin. I did rearrange things in the new shed so I could get the flatbed trailer in there. The bay was like glass early so the dead wood reduction project had to wait 'til the afternoon when we had a bit of a SE breeze. Not sure where I'll start this day at yet. Have a good day.

Morning boys.  We have 37 too and are headed to 46.  Thick clouds here at the moment.  Think I will blow out the water line today and do the dock today or tomorrow.  Dead wood reduction project!  I like that Gunner.  LOL  We may get into some of that too after the Gophers game.  Dutch probably got tickets from PJ.  :rotflmao: :rotflmao:  Pretty calm here too I see. Not to many leaves remain.  Time for more coffee.  Good luck JB.  There is one off to your right.  LOL   Have a good one.

Mornin' fellow gulag comrades! 35 at choretime heading for a high in the upper 50's. Chores done at both places. Gotta check the fence at home after questioning the tester reading last nite. Not as many flashing lites as I'd like to see. A couple troughs to repair so I can start feeding grain to the ewes at home. Rain coming in tonite & over the next several days. All kinds of other stuff to do but will probably watch the rodents 1st to see how Dutchy is coming on PJ's contract extension...

Almost done with the outdoors "put stuff away" part of Fall. Got a few things to do inside of the house to help keep the heat in and furnace running less. Next garage project is to fix the cabinet I took out of house garage and put up there so I have some place to put my meat processing stuff. Later......... :happy1: :happy1:

As long as the discussion is currently ATV's, ins company is giving us 6100 for the fried one

This is the replacement,  from Wisconsin. It's a 700 Yamaha 8332 out the door. They need to install the winch yet, hopefully brother can bring it up on Thursday

Nice! I've always wondered why people need such big motors in an ATV though. I've never felt underpowered in my 335 Polaris.

Roony.....we use ATV's pretty much as workhorses up at the cabin. we dont per say go on 20-50 mile rides. i dont but they also get used to go grouse hunting.

it gets used for dragging deer out. i have a 500 and sometimes it grunts pretty hard doing some of the stuff. we take the dock out with the wheeler. there's a decent size hill going down to the lake, hook up the winch lock it in 4 wheel drive  and need someone to sit on the back to get it out.  we also have a heavier 14 ft boat there, i use the bigger wheeler to bring it to the access through the old access road that goes past our place, actually goes across our land.........rather then drive 2 miles with the truck to the access i do it that way. even with mine it grunts some pulling it out of the lake....with all the fish i have in there! :sleazy: :happy1: :rotflmao:

then comes winter time.....add a set of chains.....and that extra power is really handy getting around on the lakes with snow on the ice.  so yea we need the extra power!!!!

My little Polaris hauls firewood with no problem. Probably the biggest workout was one year on Mil lacs during a snowstorm pulling a 8 by 10 trailer with 5 people on it and portables and gear. Coming back was harder with all the fish. I was glad we had my brothers gps mounted on it because you couldn't see a thing. Chains were a must!
I think your tires will spin or your clutch will slip before you run out of power.
And...it didn't catch on fire. :smoking:

Morning boys.  Ya it is only 7:30.  We have 38 and partly cloudy here.  The clouds are moving fast from south going north.  Breezy here. We have a 700 Polaris and a 650 Grizzly.  Both good machines but since we got the Polaris Ranger the 4 wheelers don't get much use anymore.  I just leave one hooked up to the wood splitter all summer.  I should have gotten a 500 Polaris as the 700 sucks gas but has a lot of power.  Still having coffee here so don't have my orders yet.  LOL  Gonna be a long day waiting for that Vikes game.  The Lions and Pack will be a good one.

Mornin guys, 40 here early this morning & we're hoping to see 47 too. It was misty, foggy here all day yday so I didn't spend much time outside. I can see a little blue sky today. Nothin on the list today, other than go for a Sunday paper. I'm sure I can find some putzing to do for bit after that though. Have a great day.
