I joke all of the time with the wife when watching TV.  I will say did he really say that???   She laughs and says you need hearing aids.  Of course I say something juicy and sometimes it does sound like that sort of to me.  LOL

Happy Birthday boober! Good you got the hearing/ear issue checked out & best of luck on your upcoming appointments. I know my hearing is likely a mess. Too many hours of fieldwork on an open station tractor. Loud rock & roll. Plenty of shotgun blasts, some of them indoors w/o hearing protection. I hate crowds as trying to hear anything specific is difficult. It's just noise. Maybe now I'm on Medicare, I'll get it checked out. Or just stay away from crowds... :coffee:

After a couple years listening to the wife tell me I needed to get my hearing check, I gave in and went to Costco for a hearing test. They sell 3 good brands, I got the Philips for around $1500. The nice thing about Costco is when you’re shopping, you can drop them off and they will clean them. They also give you free supplies like wax filters and cones. The hearing aids have also reduced my tinnitus (ringing in the ear). As Steve-o mentioned I’ve also read about the link between poor hearing and dimentia.

Years ago my buddy and his wife were having their first child.  Not everyone went in with the wife when they had babies and he didn't know if he could handle it.  We talked about it a lot.  Was pretty funny and I was glad it wasn't me.  Well after lots of worrying about it he decided to go in when she delivered.  All went fairly well but after the baby the Dr. said ok here comes the pizza!   (placenta)  My buddy almost lost it.  I think he had to leave the room.  For years and maybe to this day that Dr ruined pizza for him.  Great memory Dotch.

I thought it had to be something as gross as a Lottza Motzza's pizza!   :puke:

Seems like almost every here either has hearing aids, been told they should get them, or are planning to get them soon. Maybe we should start a new topic (like the health thread) called "What did you say"  :rotflmao:

Morning boys. 6 above here and heading for 14 today it says. Been playing with a little of Dotch's alien the last couple of days. So didn't do much last night. Need to put wood in the woodshed tonight though. So the alien will have to help. Ya, I'm sure I will need hearing aids at some point. Don't need dementia. I also won't take statins because of the link to dementia and Alzheimer's from that crap. Oh well, in the end something gets us. Well, just getting ready to head to the salt mines. Have a good one boys.

Morning boys.  We have a sold 7 above here and hope to see 18.  That is pretty nice actually.  Hump day.  Need to think of something for supper and do some other putzing around here today.  I have been a little stuffed up lately too.  Not bad but still there.  Good healthy living should take care of it.  LOL  Not a lot else going on and that is ok too.  Well you all take care.

Good morning campers. Thank you for all the anniversary wishes. I do appreciate it. Took the wife out to lunch. I'm sure it gave her a thrill. I let her pay, though. Can't never accuse me of not being a romantic devil.
It was 1° when the hens came out. Not much wind. Looks to be a nice day.
Not much on the agenda for today. Thinking I just might get some squirrel hunting stuff together and maybe going out tomorrow.
      Stay safe everyone.
I used to be cute and adorable. Then, I had my first birthday. Been downhill ever since.

Going to start working on the back door of the trailer today. I'll have to check around and see if I can find any 18ga sheet aluminum and 16ga steel too. Going to need a fair amount of both. Then to Amazon to find fasteners, fleet had nothing. More coffee, later...... :happy1: :happy1:

Mornin' fellow gulag comrades! 0 at choretime heading for a high around 20. Got my bale put in the lot yesterday afternoon. No oil leaks or drips so was happy about that. No newbies either for the past couple days so happy about that too. Listening to a webinar on nitrogen this a.m.  A lot of common sense stuff concerning our situation last year. Got some cornstalk bales coming this weekend so gotta get mentally prepared for that.  :coffee:

It’s the opposite.
Some studies have found that statins can reduce the risk of dementia, including a 20% reduction in one analysis of 36 studies. Another study found that statins were associated with a 20% lower risk of all-cause dementia, a 28% reduction in Alzheimer's disease, and an 18% reduction in vascular dementia.
Harvard medical, Alzheimer society
And yes, statins are for cholesterol.

Sometimes wish the Big M was a little closer. Just have to settle for Lowes, FF & Home Depot I guess. I saw eggs were $5.15 at DG the other day. Was my go-to spot for cheaper eggs until their milk & egg cooler broke down a month or so ago. Should see where they're priced at Wagner's today.

As far as statins go, I'm more concerned about the long term impact of quinine use. Some of the side effects include blurred vision, ringing in the ears & hearing loss...

I used to enjoy a gin and tonic.  That must be the common denominator in hearing issues and the need for my cataracts.   :rotflmao: :rotflmao:
