Cholesterol statins can be controversial.  Some studies say there is no correlation between high "bad" cholesterol after age 60 and death - implying a) statins are useless and b) their prescription often leads to other root causes of heart disease going untreated - which may be why other studies found diabetes is higher for patients taking statins.  "If I take this pill, I can eat whatever I want."

I've also heard that doctors are prescribing statins for much lower levels of high "bad" cholesterol than they did 15-20 years ago.  Is that because of studies?  Big pharma pushing product?  Both?

Me...?  I don't know what's right or wrong.

Mornin gents, 8 presently here & we should make 30. The local station is calling for a little late afternoon snow but TWC's hourly makes no mention of any that I can see. I haven't heard much about any alien stuff goin around down here but the schools all just went back Friday here. That's where it usually seems to start down here. Nothin pressing on my list again today, so back to my routine. Have a great day.

Morning boys.  Still pitch black here yet.  We have 18 and may see 28 which will feel great.  Even with the wind yesterday it felt good to be in the teens above.  We do have light snow coming down too.  Like JB said it could be a couple of inches. It is fluffy stuff and the wind is supposed to pick up here too.  I am headed to the landfill today.  Will be a fun run.  The dogs love it too.  Then I will stop at the bank drive in window so they will each get a treat. Guess what the wife made for supper last night.  PIZZA!  LOL   Was a thick crust one that isn't my favorite but was pretty good.  I didn't let my mind wander neither.  Well time for more coffee.  Have a good one and be careful.

Mornin' fellow gulag comrades! 8 above at choretime, heading for a high in the mid-20's with some late afternoon snow. Less than half inch accumulation expected. Keeping an eye on Saturday nite's forecast. 1" - 3" expected. Wife will have her panties in a twist. Got a group text from Auntie Mar Mar this a.m. saying they might be coming up for a belated Christmas celebration. The Mrs. informed me this a.m. that this wasn't a good weekend because "WE" have cornstalk bales to unload and "WE" have barn to clean. There's that singular "WE" again. I bet "WE" will still have to do all the cooking regardless of what "WE" do outside. Good thing I have that terd leftover from Poppy's last fecal exam in my pocket. Sometimes I grow so tired. Reminds me, it's Jimmy Page's 81st birthday today!  :happy1:

Headed to Osakis for some steel and then Menards to look for some self-taping screws, if they have them. Found some online, but don't 5,000 of them. Happy birthday Jimmy Page, thanks Dotch. Later...... :happy1: :happy1:

Good morning All.  Not a lot happening here.  Just a bit hard to do things with your leg up all day.  Doing some computer work for a bit and then just might nap...again.  Have a great day All.
