I heard from my good friend who is living in a nursing home up in Ely. The cancer is having its way. Looks like I'll be heading up there again soon to see him and probably say goodbye. Not fun

Bummer roony. My thoughts & prayers. Too much of that stuff going on. Just found out today the customer/Vietnam vet/friend of mine has been diagnosed with bladder cancer. He's looked rough for quite a while.

Mornin boys, 31 already on this side of the border & we should finish around 44, they're sayin. It looks like the wind switches back around to the WNW after lunch today & then really picks up (20+) by 7 or 8 tonight for us. The dentist wasn't real happy with the way the new crown fit so he's sending it back to the lab. Too much of a gap & food would catch in it, which would eventually lead to cavity. So, I'm going back next Friday again. Nothin big planned, so back to the routine. Have a good day.

Morning boys.  We are sitting at 33 may get to 37 but dropping from that all weekend.  Monday the high is -19.  Won't last long but that is long enough.  Have a retirement luncheon and then cocktails at the Legion this evening for a good buddy.  The last of the guys my age at the County Hwy Dept.  The last 5 years everyone reached retirement age.  I don't hardly know anyone there anymore.  Well get prepared for the cold and stay safe.

Mornin' fellow gulag comrades! 31 at choretime heading for a high in the upper 30's. Need to grab some American cranberry for the wife to decorate for a funeral, then on to more action packed barn cleaning. Spend more time moving stuff out of the way than I do hauling manure. Then we have the Octogenarian Car Club Christmas party tonite. They changed the date at the last minute because some of the codgers couldn't make it. Unreal...

Good morning All.  Warm morning here but it is WINDY again this morning.  Not that I am going out today anyway but just an observation. I have to give these graphic art people credit.  That stuff is NOT as easy as they make it look and you have to learn a whole new language too.  Oh well it passes the time.

Roony sorry to hear about your friend.  That sucks.

   not sure what it is but there seems to be an awful lot of helicopters flying this past week?, sometimes 3 times a day.

There not military,  not sure if law enforcement but by the looks of the ones I can see, seem to be the ones from the hospital?? :doah:  at least that's the direction it comes from??

Morning boys. -8 here and still windy. Temp is not supposed to go up at all today. Going to make a run down to Aitkin today to see how my dad is doing and visit with him and my stepmom for awhile. He is still in a rehab facility. This wind is sure making the wood stove eat some wood. Tomorrow will be wood cutting day and fill shed again. Have a good one boys.

Have a safe trip jb... Mornin forum fellas,  7 now headin for 9 they say. Well Maisy still wasn't getting better she felt warm yesterday morning so I brought her to the vet. Low grade fever yet, they tested her for lymes and a few other things which all came back negative,  so they pulled more blood and urine from her to be sent out which I'll hear back today sometime.  She seems to be doing better this morning with a couple of rounds of Doxycycline in her. Anywho gonna run some errands this morning and feed the fireplace all weekend long....See ya!!

Mornin fellow gulag comrades! 5 above at choretime, heading for a high around 10. Got one monster load of poop hauled yesterday then had to stop to batten down the hatches and do chores an hour and a half early so we could attend the Octogenarian Car Club Christmas party. Survived that & after chores, I'm working on a grocery list for a batch of lamb soup & feeding bottle lambs while the wife is at a funeral until after lunch. Could be a rough funeral. Adopted son & brother of some sheep friends of ours. He didn't show up for their family Christmas on Christmas Day which wasn't unusual for him. Others had tried to contact him but got no response. Finally did a wellness check on Friday & found what was left of him on the couch. Figured he'd died on Monday. Had to use dental records to identify him.  :puke: Wife did make some outstanding floral stuff made with a lot of greenery from the ranch here for it so hoping it helps ease their pain.

Morning boys.  It is -9 here and real windy.  Bad day to dig holes in the yard.  LOL   The wife thought that was pretty funny when I told her what youse guys were saying.  LOL  So at the retirement luncheon yesterday we had a good time.  My buddy that fishes by me a lot said that eggs here in town are $12.99 a doz for large ones.  I asked if he was serious.  He said yes.  I have to go in to see it to believe it. I will take pics.  Other than that it is survival weather here at the top of the nation.  JB say hi to Dad from us.  Hope he is doing well.  My Dad who is 93 fell the other day and hurt his hip.  They got him by ambulance to the hospital for xrays. No broken bones but a lot of pain so he is on those meds now. None of us are getting any younger.  My buddy who retired bought a real nice acreage in Texas.  His sister lives close so he has been there visiting her before.  He said you better have your stuff done by 10 or 11 am cuz it is too hot to be outside after that in the summer. What a difference from here.  That is too hot for me. Well stay warm and safe out there today.

A long drive last night to the sportsmen's meeting in Leaf Valley. 18 miles only each way. Between the icy roads and snow blowing across the road it took awhile to get there. Posted my axel and wheels on FB and getting a ton more replies than CL. I do have a "V" shaped self that came out of the enclosed trailer that is getting posted today so if any of you guys are interested PM me soon. It came out a 24" V-front and is approx. 76" wide. I think the pocket self I took out of it is getting repurposed into another set of selves for all of my plastic containers full of fasteners, cotter keys and that stuff. That way they're all in one place and I can find them. Stay warm, later... :happy1: :happy1:

Sorry about your friend dotch. Sad deal.

Markn, I used to stop at this fun bar when I was in the area when I lived at Ottertail.  It was Leaf Valley I think.  Do they have pop machine fronts for the doors to the rest rooms.  Fun place.  Only stayed for a couple the times I stopped but real friendly place.
