Free cocktails.  LOL   Eggs here at the Dollar General are $5.50 for large ones.  The grocery store that is now Hugo's has them at $11.99 for large ones.  SO how obvious is it that grocery stores are absolutely price gouging.  I won't pay $11.99 but I will pay $5.50.  Those rip off stores are not helping the farmers one bit.  They are only thinking of themselves of course.  That is why we shop out of town now and then.  Looking out for #1.

Good afternoon.  Kind of a nice day out and the wind has finally calmed down some.  Yesterday it got warm enough to melt stuff and sure enough the enough to make the walks a bit slickery.   Back to computer work today.

I did for a bit and a bit again today.  Have not made it to the big shop yet but that's coming....soon.

Eggs were $6 even at Bugtussle DG & $5.99/dozen at Wagner's for store brand Best Choice. No Eggland's Best there today.

I was thinking with glenn coming on as my intern, I'd get some laying hens. I'd even split the lucrative egg money with him. Just the kinda guy I am. :happy1:

I will stop in and get some stuff and see if they went up or down. I really like their meat dept.  Good guys that work there.  Actually all of the people that work there are nice people.

Probably best not to mention laying hens. He might think that’s a fringe benefit.

Morning boys. 20 here and supposed to make 28 today. Went thru the blazer last night and topped off all the fluids. Even figured out why the blower for the heat didn't work. Found the fuse was blown. Not sure why, but at least I should have heat now. Otherwise just getting ready for another day in the salt mines. Have a good one boys.

I did get my winch mounted yesterday, looks good. Now I have to wait the tool box to show up so I can finish this project. Should work on our gun bingo stuff today. Gun lists, raffles, rules, you know the fun stuff. Maybe reload some 12ga trap shells. Picked up dog crap too yesterday. Dirty job, but someone's got to do it. I did stop at Mac and Don's yesterday for lunch. Strawberry shake was great, thanks Barry. Later........ :happy1: :happy1:

Mornin gents, 14 for our start & we should top out about 38. Got back from GR yday ~ 1 & it was pretty decent out, so we decided to move snow. There was some crusty, boot high snow out back between the south garage door & the tool shed. We walk back there a lot, so the snow had to go. It was too crusty for the wheeler & plow, but the scoop shovel & blower made short work of it. :happy1: Still got a little clean-up we can mess with today there. 'Bout it here, have a great day.

Morning boys.  We have 13 and are headed to 35 today.  That is another great winter day.  Ya strawberry are my favorite too.  I do hit a vanilla or chocolate now and then too.  Running in the snow and ice in the cold catches up with the boys sometimes.  Good day of rest helps them.  A nice warm bed is pretty nice too.  LOL   A Tylenol really helps them too. I slept late today and it felt great!  I did get our humidifier and it is helping.  We were at 19% and are now up to 30 something.  We put 3-4 gallons a day in it.  Jake got so many shocks but not as much now any more.  Really helps.  Good news on the vehicle JB.  Nice to have a spare around.  I did a major dog crap pick up yesterday too.  Much nicer now.  I may head to town today or tomorrow and pick up some groceries including a slab of bacon.  Boar has me all excited to get some brine going.  You all have a great day.

Mornin' fellow gulag comrades! 29 for an overnite low, 34 at choretime, heading for a phenomenal high in the low 50's. Yesterday was a dandy. Topped out at 37 but it was still & sunny. Perfect day to finish hauling poop. I got the main barn all cleaned, 4 loads total. The load I left on the spreader from the day before was interesting. Got to the field, turned on the pto and looked back. Looked like a cloud of smoke coming off the beaters.  It was steam! The manure had started to compost and heated up. Did it for the entire load. Neighbors must've wondered WTH?!?!? After all these years, I'd never left a load on the spreader for a day before, especially in January. If you sheared a pin or snapped a chain, you pitched it off as fast as you could so it didn't turn into a chit glacier. Today, need to move a few things around then we can move some sheep into their prospective new spots. Fewer small pens. Less time doing chores, for a while.  :coffee:

You guys got it going on! I can't speak fer spreading poop Dotch,  although  it can be sprayed...oh never mind, especially after Mcdinks. We'll got momma  all rounded up from her business trip to and from Fort Worth last night. Turns out from Yellowstone the 6666 is the real deal down yonder. They hit different eateries and venues that was all supplied by them. The steaks were reasonably priced and all cooked over wood, put mine to shame she says..lol. anywho I should fire up the outside fireplace to see if my homemade sketti has a chance....See ya!

That sounds like a fun trip.  Food usually makes everything better.
