I knew you had one.  Would it cut bacon ok.  Will have to cut it in half first so it will fit in the slicer.

Mornin' fellow gulag comrades! 26 at choretime heading for a high in the low 40's. Topped out at 53 yesterday at the ranch. Too damn nice to stay inside altho I made some time after lunch to visit the friend who starts chemo today. Wasn't sure what frame of mind he might be in so called him 1st. Glad I stopped by. He's going at it with the right attitude. Sounds like a couple months worth of chemo & then they'll operate to remove his bladder. He'll have to wear a bag but he was already looking on the bright side about that. After that, I went home and got to work outside. Put the creep panel in place, bedded the loafing area, moved a bunch of panels & gates, then backed the cracked corn wagon back in its spot. Ran my skidsteer down to hill to the neighbor's shop so he could work on it. Lucky to have Jon so close. He worked for John Deere as a mechanic for 10 years. Knows his way around Mustang 330's as the John Deere 70 was the same machine. I'm thinkin' glenn could loan you one of those Pioneer knives I sent him Barry. I bet they'd cut bacon... :coffee:

Mornin all, we have 10 & are headed for 22. TWC says we've got a little snow coming down already.  S'posed to quit pretty quick but then the real thing comes in ~ 11:30. Winds around 15 with 2-4" predicted according to them. I did get in the pod yday & knocked down a couple of the plow piles early. I didn't put my bibs on though, so I started to get a little wet from the blowing snow. So, that ended that! I got a rod & a new reel to mess with early today. 'Bout it here, have a good day.

Morning boys.  When I went to bed last night at 10 it was -5 now it is +4 so it is headed in the right direction. Should see 24 today and a dusting to an inch of snow.  Tonight and tomorrow we may get 1 - 3".  It is a little hazy out now.  The breeze is picking up.  No big plans for the day.  I did get that hunk of pork belly so will get that brined today. Then I don't know what.  Wish I would have picked up a rack of ribs to do today.  May even go get some depending on what the wife has in store for me.  LOL  Of course that is top priority.  Starting to get a little spring fever.  Not that I can do anything about it.  SO I have been recruited to do some chicken wrangling today.  Seriously.  My buddy upriver has about 6 of them.  He is in Grand Forks and Thief today and tomorrow watching grandkids hockey games.  At noon I am letting them out to run around his yard freely.  Then before dark I will water and feed them and lock em up.  Then tomorrow morning I will let them out and he will take care of them at night.  I can have all of the eggs I find.  Right on.  I hope they poop a lot of eggs out for me. I am surprised that coons or foxes don't get them.  ????  Hope it goes well.  Well time for another cup of java.  Have a good one.

Mornin' fellow gulag comrades! 25 at choretime heading for a high in the upper terdies. Windy today out of the SE at 20 mph, gusting to 28. Been picking up with gusts of up to 35 mph expected. Some possible flurries & sprinkles later this afternoon. Need to get to the locker plant this forenoon to pick up our share of the lamb I hauled in last week. They kinda got the billing messed up on the text notice I received. Shouldn't be $175 to process 1/2 a lamb. If it is it'll be the last one I take there. Also need to make a feed run to Hope before noon so I can mail glenn's stuff before their post office closes. 1st I gots to have my oatmeal, have some coffee, & catch up on the dead people in Albert's Leaf...  :coffee:

I stopped by FF and grabbed a new jack for the tandem trailer yesterday. After that I stopped by Harbor Freight and bought a bandsaw. Their small one for 300 bucks and after the discount, tax and a freebie 4 1/2" grinder I paid 258 dollars. My chop saw just doesn't work as well as I would like it to. I see I need to hang the bird feeder back up in the tree. It's the ribcage from a deer. The dog is loving it right now when he's outside. Later.... :happy1: :happy1:

Back when I had a business I got a band saw and what a nice addition.  Not so darn loud and a lot less mess.  Better cuts too. If I had room I would get another one but just don't.

Morning boys. It was 1 above when I headed out fishing this morning. Up to 8 now. Pretty windy from the SE and some snow coming down. Have had some decent action this morning. Seems to have slowed up now. I bought a Jet bandsaw from Menards back in 2001 or 2. It is certainly a handy tool. Nice cuts and fairly quiet. Well, have a good one boys.

Good morning All.  Cold and windy here.  Temps have been dropping all night. They are saying a chance of snow but they said that for last night as well.  They talk like sales people with cover their butt words just in case it goes either way.  Could see, Possible snow or a chance of snow.  I think I will look at the flat rock on a rope.  Swinging its windy, wet it raining or covered in snow its snowing.

Those band saws are nice.   One of those tools you don't use all the time but nice to have when you do need it.

Have a great day!!!

Done wrangling chickens for the morning.  Got a whopping 2 eggs but they are beauties.  The south wind has the driveway cleaned up right to the gravel.

Did the evening flock work.  I hope he only has 4 chickens.  He has a open sided shed that the chickens seemed to stay under.  Went right back into the coop.  No eggs.  Darn!  Tomorrow I let them out at 8 or 9.  That is my best and last chance for a big haul.  Windy as heck here from the south all day.  The flakes were big earlier but just blowing snow I think now.

Mornin boys, 22 for our start here & we might see 27. I haven't been out yet, but I think the 24/7 cable radar station was the closest with their 1-2" prediction. Had a pretty steady snow for an hour, maybe 2, early yday afternoon & with that wind our bay pretty much disappeared then too. Did get the new reel on the rod & even put some line on it too. :happy1: That can now go back out to the boat, maybe even today. Probably go get a Sunday paper but not sure what else needs doing..............yet. Have a good day.

The toolbox for the trailer showed up yesterday so I get to mount that and wire up the winch later today. I going to try using silicon between the box and frame to keep out the rust. I also found a hunk of old carpet from the house to put on the bottom so things aren't rattling around in it. I guess that's why we tend to hang onto that stuff. Been sitting on a shelf in the house garage since 2012. Later...... :happy1: :happy1:

Morning boys.  Good save Mark.  LOL  We have 25 now and looks like 2-3" of snow but haven't been out yet.  Truck is warming up as I have my coffee.  Of to tend the flock ya know.  Hope I get some eggs this time. Darn Fish Monger is on.  May have to watch that before I go.  Great show.  Other than that I will do the rack of ribs today on the Pitt Boss.  They smell so good I could almost take a bite out of them raw.  The wife just said it's Bob's birthday today.  Oh really I said.  NO my brother in law Bob from Hoyt Lakes. Not the cat! :rotflmao: :rotflmao:  He is the same age as my Dad at 93.  Good guy and a real talker.  We hang together at the family reunions.  He hates Toyotas.  LOL  So I bring it up every year to get him wound up.  Well have a great day and stay out of trouble.

Mornin' fellow gulag comrades! 35 & murky at choretime, heading for a high in the mid-40's. Be nice if the fog would burn off but holding my breath. At least the wind isn't howling today. Today's activities include emptying the kennel the garage lamb stayed in, unhooking the tractor from the spreader & putting the bale spear on so I can put a round bale in the lot. Also need to dock some tails, vax & tag some lambs. Have a minor league alien so took a glenn nap yesterday afternoon. Could happen again today... :coffee:

Morning boys. 23 and windy out of the West here. About the same amount of snow as Barry here. No fishing today. Slept in this morning. Although we were up late watching Hell on Wheels last night. Going to have coffee and breakfast. Then head out to cut firewood and load the wood shed. Have a good one boys.
