Odd thought just crossed my mind.  Anyone ever smoked a prime rib?

Been a while Roony but the ones we did,  the oven at first was cranked as high as it got for so long, drop it back to around to 350 then shut it off to finish.  They turned out pretty good. A good thermometer will do you well.

Our family has always put it in and jack it up to 500 and then down but not sure where thing.  The most important thing is to not open the oven through the whole process.  AND Roony you are the man!  That is prefect.

Good morning All.  Cold and windy this morning.  Looks like the snow is going to miss us again this morning.  Going to make a trip into town and see how that goes.  Not planning anything after that right now.   Have a great day!!

Morning boys.  We have 4 I mean 1 here.  That was a quick drop.  May see 7 above.  -12 tonight. Back to cold cruel reality.  At least we are done with January.  Now lets get Feb whittled down quickly.  Not a lot going on today except survival tactics.  Tend the fire and keep Bucko happy.  I am in a good book series that has kept me busy too.  Feels good to read a good book.  Good for the mind especially in the middle of winter.  I ended up with a total of 5 eggs and made a great omelet (scrambled eggs) with Midwest Pride sausage links cut up, onions, cheddar cheese and 4 of the eggs.  Well lets stay healthy and have a good week.

Mornin gang, it's 6 here & we s'posed to see 10. It looks like we might get a little snow late this morning but it doesn't appear that it'll amount to much. After cleaning it up some early yday, I think we were closer to 3" over the weekend. I've got a couple small things to get me started & I'll just see where that takes me. Have a good day.

Headed to town for appt. with bone cracker at 11:00 and then stop by the dentist and pay them. Then it's plow the driveway and a meeting at 6:00 tonight for high school trap shooters. I'll try to finish up the winch project too today, tomorrow for sure. Why does it always snow the night before the garbage can has to be put at the end of the driveway? So the county plow can drive around it? Knock it over? Later....... :happy1: :happy1:

Mornin' fellow gulag comrades! 31 at choretime with temps falling thoughout the day to low single digits by tomorrow morning. Some sprinkles here now. Got a lot done yesterday including cleaning out a lamb/dog kennel, checking the fence, moving a ewe & lamb, cleaning up the backyard sticks & putting a bale in the lot. When I made supper after chores, I was tuckered so took a short glenn nap before feeding bottle lambs. Wife didn't get back from Albert's Leaf until ~ 1 a.m. Had another lamb born this a.m. It had crawled into a pen between the panel & the wall so the ewe was in a tizzy. Got that handled. Onward and upward. Payroll & banking on the slate today. Yee ha.

Mornin gents, we had -11 out in the garage earlier & we could make 9 today. Pretty cold today & with the snow forecasted for late tomorrow I think we're headed into GR a day early. We probably wouldn't do much outside today anyway. 'Bout it here, have a good day.

Good morning campers. We had 1° as the flock thundered out of the coop. Other than a run to Bomgaars for a few supplies, my day looks uneventful. That's OK.
      Stay safe everyone.

Up here we need all we can get right now.  The lakes have to be getting close to record lows.  Bring us snow, a lot of it, and then rain for a week or so in March.

Mornin' fellow gulag comrades! 2 at choretime, heading for a high in the mid-teens. Battling the alien altho this one's been a lightweight even tho it's starting to produce copious amounts of snot. Now I got my weather data tabulated to mail & column copy written I'll head home at noon. Prolly stay there after lunch. Maybe catch up on my Gunsmoke reruns since the bozos on INSP insist on running How the West was Won at bedtime. No way I'm watching a 2 hour show at 10 o'clock at nite! Lucky to stay awake for an hour long Gunsmoke. As far as precip here, some February snow cover would be fine. Just so long as it doesn't pull a 2019 when we had 36" to go along with the 17" the last half of January. That sucked. No indication that'll happen anytime soon. Moisture-wise, it's dry on the surface but our subsoils are in good shape. We got nearly 3" of rain in Nov. & another 1.22" in Dec. that soaked in. Plus, we had excess rain in Aug. the crops, trees, etc., didn't use up entirely. Plenty of moisture to get a crop or garden off to a good start. Plant in the dust, bins will bust.  :coffee:

We need to be careful what we wish for. A couple years ago we had just that. LOTW was the 2nd highest on record the summer of 22. Rainy lake, Kab, crane they were all flooding too. The rainy river was super high too. Just ask LPS.
