Mornin guys, we had 27 @ 1st peek & we might see 44, they're saying. With the colder temps early today the snow I moved away from the door on the garage seemed quite a bit drier to me. So, I'll probably put my bibs on & go see if it's any easier to push around a little. I stuck a ruler in 1 spot out back & was surprised to see it read 8". But I believe that the wind switched last night & that some of that blew off the cabin, so I'm calling it closer to 7" here. Yup, take it easy on the roads, LPS. No more now, have a great day

Mornin' fellow gulag comrades! 34 at choretime, heading for a high in the mid-40's. .08" of rain in the past 24 hrs. at the ranch & in Bugtussle proper, though some might argue that gauge is actually on the edge of the northern suburb. At any rate, we didn't receive any snow. You guys up north can have it. I do have a slop hole that's developed out in front of the barn that needs attention. Will burn thru a lot of bedding if I don't take care of it. Also can get to be an animal health issue. I'd just as soon not be running around with a syringe & a bottle of antibiotic. Takes all the fun out of this sheep raising thing...

Afternoon boys.  Just got home to a mess of melted snow.  Water is running down my truck tracks like a creek.  Hope it all runs away.  165 miles each way to appt.  Man that is a lot of driving in one day.  Roads were marginal on the way down and just like summer on the way back.  It is 47 at the moment.  :happy1: I am expecting to see some open water on the river right here at home tomorrow.  I would say we got 5-6" here.  Wet stuff too.

Morning boys. TGIF!! 30 here and heading for 38 today. Radar shows some snow coming out way. I hope not. Taking the truck to work today and heading to IFalls around noon. This truck has never seen road salt. Rarely drive it in the winter. Going have the dealer do the recall on it. Just need to get the wife moving so we can get to work. Lol. Otherwise just getting ready for another day in the salt mines. Have a good one boys.

Good morning.  25 here this morning and they say heading to 40 with very little wind.  Plan for the day is to spend it in the shop buffing out some fresh paint and to re-hang motors on the back of the Tyee we are working on.  Not sure how much helping I will do with the motor hanging but just have to see.   Have a great day.

Tire done, now the steering needs attention. What a mess in the driveway and yard. I'll have to go retrieve my disc from the party that barrowed it and buy 100 pounds of grass seed to fix it. Mike, the visitation was for a friend I've known for 40 plus years and worked with for 30 of them. Ran into former co-workers yesterday I haven't seen in 5 years, when I refried, to 20 years ago when they retired. It was kinda of a family reunion more than a funeral. Later..... :happy1: :happy1:

Mornin all, we had 29 early & we might see 40. Yeah, we melted a bunch on this end of the driveway as well as on the side & in back of the garage here too. I see we now have a day that's over 13 hours long here, 6:48-7:50. :happy1: Got a little late afternoon rain or snow showers in the hourly again today. Got a little project I want to look into to start this day. 'Bout it here, have a good day.

Morning boys.  We have 32 here and should get to 40 today.  I still don't have open water here but expect it today.  Some dark spots on the river this morning.  When it goes it goes fast, especially with this warm weather.  I have to run to town today and pay some bills.  Will take the ol Ford since I have a deer leg that Jake dragged out of the woods and the latest 2 pine squirrels that fell out of the feeder and died.  The ol Rem Targetmaster with CB shorts really gets em.  I think the foxes must have dragged the deer leg here.  Happens every spring.  I will throw them in a ditch for the other wildlife to munch on.  A lot of snow melted overnight.  Glad to see that.  I made little water runways so lot of it ran off the driveway overnight.  Well have a great Friday.  TGIF

Mornin' fellow gulag comrades! 27 at choretime, heading for a high around fitty. No precip the past 24 hrs. Ground was froze on top pretty good so the soil ain't real warm yet. The bunnies will have to wait to eat anything in the garden. Speaking of that, the effing sheep are starting to do a number on the arborvitae in the windbreak so I'm gonna need to fence that off again. Pi$$es me off. They have all the hay they could ever want to eat & the pasture is greening up but they can't seem to behave themselves. Was nice not having to mow but I can buzz thru it once every few weeks with the zero turn a lot faster than I could with the old mowers. The worst thing is the weed trees like boxelders they kept down. Still more stuff for me to do.

Took a drive to the Vidas landing.  Launching there today.  That's about 6 or 7 miles from me.  Some holes in the ice between that and me.  May not see open water till tomorrow or Sunday here.  It is snowing enough to have to use the wipers so the roads is wet JB.

Morning boys.  We have 19 here and should see 40 easily.  That is what they predicted yesterday but I think it got over that.  Still no open water here.  A few dark spots.  I think we are heading to the Falls today to get some stuff today.  No big deal just nice to get out of town now and then.  Well have a good one.

Morning boys. 20 here and heading for 40 just like LPS. Yep, the roads were wet when we went to IFalls Lps. The recall went just fine. Strange thing happened though. The truck went in blue and came out white with lees miles. Lol. The main reason we were going there was to buy a new truck. New 2024 GMC. They had the price reduced 13k. So it worked out to good. At some point today I hope to make it out fishing. But first coffee and biscuits and gravy for breakfast. Then go play with all the gadgets in the new rig. Have a good one boys.

Showing 19 here at the moment so it's making ice.  Funny how we get excited in the fall for the cold to come in and make ice but in the spring it's time for warm melting temps.  Have some bunk boards to finish today and that might be the extent of what I do today.

Congrats on the new rig JB.   Those are nice trucks.

I ended up fixing one of the garage doors on the shop yesterday. Somehow the motor was about 6" out square. The ceiling is 12' so now I have to FF to get a 10' ladder. Wait, there's a portable scaffolding sitting there I can use to get to the opener. Just stand on the roof. It's yellow and black and says Cat on the side. Problem solved. Later...... :happy1: :happy1:

Mornin' fellow gulag comrades! 32 at choretime,  heading for a high in the mid-40's. NW wind again today ~20 mph so takes the fun out of being outside. Should get at the apple/pear tree pruning but tomorrow looks more comfortable. Have to make a feed run but won't do that until lunch hour. Fewer people to contend with at Krause's that way. Should schedule a glenn nap after I get back...😴

Got back from the Falls awhile ago.  Great trip.  Got a select beautiful pine board as I am making my Dad's cask/box/urn.  A cask it what you bury.  An urn is usually round.  We will bury him it on Mem weekend so I guess it is a cask.  ???   Got some of the best looking beef ribs that I have ever seen at the meat market there.  So much meat on them I can hardly see the bone.  It is usually the other way around.  They may be my first priority tomorrow.  When we got home there is a small streak of open water here.  It is getting bigger by the minute.  We have a north breeze so that helps.  Lots of big ice chunks upriver right around the bend pushing on it too.  Love this time of year to watch it open up.  Some years it all happens overnight so miss it.  I see the Twins are having fun today.   Oh ya mayhaps I should make a gin tonic since I got the first bottle of gin I have bought it maybe 25 years.  I got the good stuff.  Woody's Fairly Reliable Gin.  Per Woody's Fairly Reliable Guide Service at Ranier.  Just east of the Falls.  Pretty high quality stuff.  LOL   ???   We shall see.   JB, man I am envious of you.  Nice truck.  BUT I thought your last one was about as good as it gets.  I liked that dark blue.  What do you think one like your old one will retail for?  Just curious.  I like my paid off one.  Was that a Duramax? Man what a day.  Think Hubert is coming down the driveway.   :sleazy:
