I made the best oyster stew I ever had last night.  Per Gunner's tip I used Whole Milk.   :happy1:

1 - stick of butter
1 - sweet onion chopped up
1 - jag of garlic
4 - cups of whole milk
2 - 4 oz cans of mushrooms - drained
3 - 4 oz cans of oysters
1 - bag of smaller shrimp

Melt butter and sautee the onions.  Add garlic and mushrooms. Add the milk slowly.  Then add just the oyster juice.  Add the shrimp and heat this all till very warm.  Add the oysters and cook till just a light simmer.  Take off heat.  Spice as you like.

Yes, curious to see what you guys picked out for recipes.

I've made lasagna Florentine style, with a layer or two of ricotta cheese mixed with finely chopped, fresh spinach leaves.

The other thing I like to do is make a layer of those giant portabella mushroom caps.

I will find it and show it.  I did use 2 cans of Hunts Sausage Sauce.  That's my favorite in a can sauce.  I used a lb of burger and a lb of italian ground pork.  I used cottage cheese instead of ricotta.

  Barry's Lasagna

2 lbs meat  I do 1 burger and 1 Italian pork
1 onion
1 jag of garlic
2 24 oz cans of sauce  I like Hunts Sausage Sauce
9 lasagna noodles
6 cups mozzarella
1 large tub of cottage cheese
1 egg (beaten)
Spices of your choice.  Can also add mushrooms.

1.  So brown your  2 lbs of meat in a large pan so there is room for the sauce there too.  Cut up an onion and add to this.  Drain meat then add the 2- 24 oz cans of sauce.
2. Boil your noodles at the same time.
3. Combine a large tub of cottage cheese with 2 cups of mozzarella.  Add a beaten egg to the cheese mix.
4. In a 9 x 13 pan put a scoop of sauce on the bottom of the pan.
5. Put 3 noodles on top of the sauce
6. Put half of your cheese mixture on top of the noodles.
7. Put sauce on the cheese
8. Add 3 more noodles.
9. Put the rest of the cheese mixture on the noodles
10. Cover that with sauce.
11. Put 3 more noodles in
12. Cover them with the rest of the sauce.
13. Top that with some parmesan

Cook for an hour covered. Then uncover and put 3 cups of mozzarella on top and cook for 15 minutes or until it looks done.  Then let rest for 15 minutes so the juice soaks in.

SO it is sauce - noodles - cheese - sauce - noodles - cheese - sauce - noodles - sauce on top.
