My first attempt at Swedish meatballs and gravy.  Was a complete success!   Will do it again.  The meatballs were just done and not overdone so nice and soft.  That made the whole deal better.

No was fresh meat.  LOL  I have to pat myself on the back for this cooking project.  They did turn out great!  Have lots left over too.  Will have it for lunch and supper today.   :happy1:

Well, at least you made your own meatballs from scratch instead of buying those fake nasty frozen ones. Good for you!

Man German's have some awesome foods too!  Sausage, Kraut, it doesnt get much better than that.

that will be good eats!!!   I roasted some last week for the first time and I really liked it!!!

Pretty basic really.  I have all 4 qts on the kitchen cupboard where I can watch them do their thing.  There are some good youtube videos about it too.

from what I read up to 3 weeks to let it ferment...

Then when you think it is sour enough you just put lids on the jars and put in the frig.  It is ok to test eat it at any time you want.

The guy that showed my how to make it said put the rim and lid on it and let it do it's thing. Said to tighten it then loosen it a tad. After about 3 weeks I put a new unused lid on and tighten it up good. It eventually seals, most anyway. The ones that don't I stick in the beer frig.

I've had them seal in there also.

I have a NY Strip that I am going to slice up and fry to make fajitas with it.  Slice up some onion and green pepper and fry that too to put on tortillas.  I will also add salsa and mayhaps sour cream just cuz I like it.

I make mine in a crock, turn out great. When it’s done I divide up the kraut and juice and put it in freezer bags. Just remember to not heat it over 115 degrees or you destroy the probiotic benefits.
