:reporter; Vick hints at interest in joining Vikings :doah:

 :coffee: .....
MINNEAPOLIS — The Minnesota Vikings quarterback position looks to be an attractive gig for any and all signal-callers out there looking for a job.
The Vikings have the ingredients for a dominant defense, still possess the league’s top running back in Adrian Peterson and are flush with young receiving talent.

One guy who seems interested: Michael Vick. And he isn’t shy about expressing his interest publicly. Vick posted a FanSided article about how he could lead the Vikings to the Super Bowl :blablabla: to his Facebook page.

Vick turned the league on its side for a few years in Atlanta and then Philadelphia :cheerleader: with his strong arm and athletic ability but certainly didn’t look like his old self in recent fill-in stints with the New York Jets and Pittsburgh Steelers — although the 36-year-old did go 2-1 in three starts with Pittsburgh last season.

Super Bowl still in Peterson’s sights:

Adrian Peterson is always talking about winning the Super Bowl, so don’t think Teddy Bridgewater’s season-ending injury is going to change that.

The Vikings running back said he was in “disbelief” when the starting quarterback went down with a dislocated left knee and torn anterior cruciate ligament in practice Tuesday. But, he added, Peterson hasn’t stopped aiming at a Super Bowl victory.

“We still have the opportunity, and it’s very unfortunate that you lose a starting quarterback, but it takes a team to win a championship, so guys have to step up and you know we’ll still be chasing the same thing,’’ Peterson said after Minnesota closed the preseason with a 27-25 win over Los Angeles at U.S. Bank Stadium .

Peterson knows all about ACL injuries, and has been dispensing advice to Bridgewater. Peterson suffered a torn ACL on Dec. 24, 2011, at Washington but bounced back the next season to rush for 2,097 yards, second-most in NFL history.

“I told him the first thing is to get your mindset,” Peterson said. “You can question, ‘Why me?’ or this and that and the other, but you are still going to have the injury, so just focus on things that you can accomplish going forward.

“So, I told him that was the biggest thing for me, and really the first couple of weeks after surgery taking advantage of doing the little exercises that they give you to do.”

Peterson went to the hospital on Tuesday night along with cornerback Captain Munnerlyn.

“It was good to see him,” he said. “I remember a doc walked in and she was like, ‘Do you need meds?’ He said, ‘Oh, you guys just walked in. I’m good now.’ He still was able to have his sense of humor. He was in good spirits.”

That continued to be the case Thursday, when Bridgewater visited Winter Park. Vikings coach Mike Zimmer said there were about 20 players “sitting on the training tables talking to him, joking around like they always do.”

“It feels good to see his face and see him smile and be able to look in his eyes and see that his mind is in the right place,” Peterson said. “After such a dramatic injury, to see him be in the building and be in great spirits, that’s big.”

Peterson said he has full confidence in Shaun Hill, who will take over for Bridgewater.

“I feel like Shaun is going to do a great job for us and I have confidence in him and he’s shown what he’s able to do in the passing game,’’ Peterson said. “So, I feel like we’re still able to have a balanced offense and we’re just going to go from there.’’

Still, Peterson doesn’t deny the Bridgewater injury hurts. He said the third-year quarterback was ready to have a breakout season.

“Teddy’s just a good person, and to see the steps that he has made from the first year to last year, and being able to see how he just became smarter, better, stronger arm,” Peterson said. “He was really going to be able to help us out.”

Wright makes an appearance:

There was a Jarius Wright sighting Thursday night at U.S. Bank Stadium — three of them, actually.

The veteran slot receiver started and was targeted a half-dozen times in the Vikings’ preseason finale against the Rams, a game typically reserved for roster casualties and practice-squad desperadoes.

Wright strained a hamstring early in training camp, an injury that nagged him enough to sit out the first two preseason games.
