No school on Monday so off the land we went.

As much as I liked it when my kids started coming to hunting camp I think I enjoy the grand kids coming even more. I have 2 grand daughters 8-6 that aren't hunters yet ("yet" I hope)  that just love it out in the woods on 4 wheelers.

same here hawg. got my 21 year old grandson coming up with me this weekend to play in the woods. he is finally getting his act together after almost disowning him! great to see!!!!!!!!!!!!

That ladder stand has had a few upgrades. Is the top changed too? It looks farther from the tree than normal, almost like a climber. I'm so afraid of heights I'm usually the guy that takes a ladder section out.

Yes there are a couple modifications to the ladder stands.  I make these two changes before putting them up.

I attach plywood to the back and behind your feet.  This help block movement and gives me a place
to attach camo material.


I cut an 8 foot 4x4 in half, bore a hole in one end, and pound in the bottom ladder section.
This does several things.  1. Makes the stand 4 feet higher.  2. Makes a good base (no sinking in the ground)
and most importantly 3. Great stability improvement when you put a board from the top of the 4x4 to the tree.
