Everyone wants a piece of the moose pie. Why can't they realize that there's not enough moose around to supply all those pies. "Gimmie, gimmie, gimmie I deserve my slice of moose pie and I intend to get it!"

Too bad some sportsman group couldn't get a TV commercial showing that picture with pictures of the indians filling up pickup boxes of netted fish at Mille Lacs or even Red where they promised not to net again, or the Moose hunt (notice how I capitalized Moose and not indian? I respect Moose), with a final spoken line of "How we doing john?"

Dayton kept the walleye season open on Mille Lacs, after the anglers had taken the agreed upon quota.   So this is different?

Dayton kept the walleye season open to save what's left of the area...and he knows how flawed the "hooking mortality" scientific formula is. Anglers didn't take any walleyes out of Mille lacs this year. When you have a 40-70% error margin. they rounded up to stop the season. Did the state reach there quota? I'm more then willing to say no. I fished that lake multiple times this year never seen a DNR boat, truck, and was not surveyed by the creel folks. That's after about a dozen times on the lake on all sides of the lake and different landings each time.

We're talkin' moose here. The walleye one has been beaten to death.  The moose population has been at a critical low for years; and there's no such thing as just "restocking" or having limits. Will they end up an endangered species?
