Making our annual trip to Deer Camp
My younger son and I will be making our annual 11 hour journey to deer camp in Waskish on Thursday. We missed the opening weekend, but my parents, grandmother, and aunt were (are) all there. Depending on my sons plan for next year (college) this might be his last MN deer hunt for a few years. This photo is from Owen (my younger) got his first deer (six years ago). These darn kids grow up way to fast. We hope to make the most of this coming weekend. Wish us luck!

Right north of Westwind there is a sign that says Cookies.  Stop in and buy some Cookies.  They are great....

Owen shot this buck on Sunday morning after I kicked him up and missed him. Owen heard my shot saw the deer running near his stand and made a noise (like on the hunting video's) and it stopped and he put it down with a shot thru the vitals. I'm very happy for him. Also, my dad had a black bear walk by his stand. It had to walk by the only hunter in our party without a smart phone to take a photo or video...
