Relaxing weekend

Headed up north after work friday with a great friend and arrived at our land at 10.  Fell asleep right away.  Hit the lake early and we're all set up as the sky started to get light. The crappies were in a 24 foot sadle near deep water that looked good on the map.  Only people on the spot.  The  bite was hot and we had our twenty 10 to 11 inchers in an hour.  Only sorting we did was to release the bigger fish.  The bite stopped abruptly at 8.  After trying for another 20 min we had had our fun with the crappies and headed to a different lake to chase sunnies.  Had no luck so we had a quick venison steak lunch on the grill we headed to leech and try our luck on tulibi.  Only managed 2 and had to fight 20 mph winds. When I cleaned the tulibi I found why there bite was hard. They were stuffed with mayfly larve.  Hit the hay by 730 and headed back after the crappies early this morning  and found them right were we were the day before.  Great fun.  Could only fish one line. It was crazy.  On our way off we talked to a couple other groups.  They all said the same thing.  Slow and small.  We didn't show or tell them what we had.

I can not tell a lie.  No alcohol was consumed.  Fireball is not a friend of mine, and I was the driver.

not if there isnt any snow!!!!!!! SHEEZ!!!!!!!!!!   and i would assume the top ice might be a bit pourous so any water might of seeped into the ice!!!!!

The ice was good on the main Lakes there was very little water on top of the ice the only issue we had was getting onto the lake the ice was really pushed up on the shores and a couple of the public accesses the cement was all piled up from the ramp and we had a drive around to a different access. On the Leech Lake we had to drive 3 miles one way around a very large pressure Ridge to get to Stony Point we are hoping to get back up onto leech in two weeks and try to get some more tullibee

Yes there is an access on Stony Point but the ice was pushed up and three large cracks to cross so we chose a different access
