Recommendations for Red Lake

Hello
Going to Red Lake 2nd weekend in March. I have never been on the lake, but can't wait to go
3-4 people going
2 snowmobiles
2 portables
3 days
Plan: Rent a 4 man house and scout for fish with our portables and come in for a beer and visit with the locals.
Need recommendations for:
Where on the lake? Ex: noth west, north east???
Who to rent from (would like to help Jeff but need to know his stauts)?
Any help full hints with the plan. (looks like a auger extension is needed)

sounds like a good plan... not sure who will openings available.  it doesn't matter where you go out, just head west.  no doubt who ever you go with will try and help you get on fish.
