Again??!?!?
For the second time in a couple months, a US Navy ship has run into another ship....How the hell does THAT happen??!?!  Sad thing is ten sailors are missing...

Absolutely human error.  Larger ships are running into them so they are in the wrong place.  They are supposed to yield to the larger ships.  Dumbass's is the bottom line.

Has to be. With sonar, radar, microwave, visual and audio, how the hell do ya let a 20,000 ton oil tanker, 600' ship, visible 2 miles away, run into yer middle port side???! Our navy has become a laughingstock. My Dad would flip if he was still alive.

I don't understand how this could happen. I spent four years aboard ship (USS Hermitage, LSD-34), well minus 3 months for basic training. Even if your going electronics silent and darken ship (late 60's early 70's stealth mode), you still have open bridge and port and starboard watches looking for other ships. And a commercial tanker is going to have a lot of lights on. Had to be a number of people drop the ball on this one.
