(ABC 6 News) -- A Rochester woman said she was driving home Monday afternoon when a man pulled up next to her car and proceeded to follow her around SE Rochester.

According to Rochester Police Captain John Sherwin, the 21-year-old victim told police she was at the intersection of Marion Rd and 12th St. SE in Rochester. She said a man pulled up next to her in a Hyundai and tried to get her to roll down her window and pull over.  The woman said she knows the man, who police identified as 25-year-old Dorrance Roberts. The woman said she and Roberts used to be in a relationship, but there's now a Domestic Abuse No Contact Order against him.

The woman said she continued driving and Roberts continued to follow her. She tried to lose him in a neighborhood east of 3rd Ave SE but she told police Roberts continued to follow her and pull up next to her, trying to get her to pull over. The woman told police that when she couldn't lose him, she decided to go to the Government Center. That's when police say Roberts pulled a "pit maneuver" with his vehicle and rammed it into the victim's vehicle, pushing it into a driveway on 7th Ave SE. The woman said Roberts then drove away and she drove to the government center. Her vehicle had some damage on it from the impact.

The Rochester Police Department contacted the Goodhue County Sheriff's Office to arrest Roberts, who lives in Goodhue. When deputies got to his home, he allegedly took off running in a corn field. Authorities say he injured himself when he ran into a telephone pole while running. The Goodhue County Sheriff's Office brought him to the hospital in Rochester for treatment. The Rochester Police Department eventually picked him up and brought him to jail when he was released from the hospital.
