just a heads up for anyone close here... the Red Wing Shoe annual warehouse sale is coming up oct 12-15th (thurs-sun)  Most of the good stuff goes on thursday, but there is usually some very good deals to be had. I'm going to try and get over there today and do some recon on what they are putting out.  If anyone is interested and planning on coming down... I'll be working it on thurs and sunday... maybe if there is something you see in my pics, i can pull it and hold for ya.
If a gun kills people then I can blame a pen for my misspells?

the warehouse sale is in Red Wing, but not at the store. It's at the old factory we call Plant1.  It's right off 61, right before the river bridge.  http://solutions.redwingshoes.com/WHSale has location.

There are some irish setter boots in there, lots of work boots, and 4000 pairs of seconds and discontinues for the womens shoe line introduced last year.  the old warehouse is full of stuff.

John,thanx for the headsup...So you work for redwing I take it? Always been a fan of redwing until a few years ago,I bought two pair of redwing upland boots as I always travel/hunt with good high end boots,usually always have 3pair in my truck plus rubber knee high boots.

So,once home with my new boots I was treating them with camp dry on the leather area's when I came across the inside tag "Made in China" pissed me off as I couldn't return'em after appling the waterproof stuff,fired an email off to redwing asked what was up,they responded that they out source all but one or two boot models,sucks but thats me,I get it,all about selling product but growing up every boot was made here in redwing Minnesota.

Since then I ordered a couple pair of hand made boots from Schnee's boots located in bozeman MT,so far they have lasted years and are still water proof but they are spendy.

@snow
all redwing brands are made in us, irish setter, some are in us, rest in china. But we do  use our US leather. some are also partially made overseas, and finished off here, but you can't claim made in USA on those, unless the whole thing is made in USA.

I get you, but you have to compete with the timberland and danners of the world.  I'd have to say it's still held to the high quality QA we have... and you can get them factory resoled here. I have a few pairs (go figure) of irish setters, upland boots, rocky mt hunting boots... and I love them. they have all held up well, cept for the soles... but they wear out. I just get them resoled here in red wing at the factory.  Everybody can do that, it's a service we offer.
Any other questions let me know.

oh, and don't use camp seal on your boots... lol.. I use Sno seal.. but i think redwing max a wax based one too... but I like Sno Seal. Warm your boot up with a hairdryer or in the oven, and then rub it in.  but all our new boots are already treated, so you don't need to put anything on them out of the box... just after you wear them a while.
