Dumb ass ice rescued

      Authorities Rescue Over Eager Minnesota Man Trying to Ice Fish in Central Minnesota

While ice thickness in northern Minnesota is allowing some anglers to begin their hard-water season, one man in central Minnesota, near the town of Cambridge, was being rescued from trying to fish on too thin of ice.

According to Fox 9, one ice fisherman just couldn’t stand the wait  any longer, and he attempted to venture out onto Mud Lake.

Authorities reportedly responded to the scene around 3:45 p.m. on Monday, where Cambridge firefighters and a sheriff’s deputy put on cold-water suits to go out and rescue the man. He was roughly 50 feet off shore, and when first responders got to him, he had experienced mild hypothermia, but was otherwise in good condition.

The ice is not thick enough in Isanti County for anglers to walk on just yet, officials urged.

Warning:   Although we understand your eagerness, do not risk venturing out on thin ice! This guy was lucky he got out of the lake relatively unscathed. Recently, two other anglers in Minnesota weren’t so fortunate.

The reason I brought it up was, because I saw the pictures in the paper. And the one they have pictured (I believe) is a slue hole, and doesn't have any fish in it.
