One went in between Big Lake and Mitchell
They made it out, but I believe that area is posted for thin ice.

Someone tries it about every other year.  It's the channel between the two lakes and quite often it's open.  Lots of signs post the warning but.....

I found this out with a snowmobile many years ago. When the ice is gray, stay away.
