Sorry guys but these event with our native folks really tic's me off, everyone tip toe's around not to offend, this PC BS needs to end, started today with changing the name of lake CAHLHOUN the other day, wtf? Not to mention all ther other bs we have going on with the natives here and nationally and now mystic lake is pulling another boner.

Nomadic Entertainment Group filed a lawsuit in federal court Tuesday alleging that Mystic Lake Casino canceled a planned temporary concert venue for the Super Bowl without notice after the company spent $2.4 million building the structure.

Sure the tribe has the right on their land but this is thievery, mpls pulls in 1000's of comapnies and folks for the super bowl, the tribe see's $$ sign's,build 15story hotel near the casino to suck off this event and I get it,good business on they're end, then they let this company build this temp building for 7 days of partying starting tomorrow, cancel the nomadic event and brings in they're own entertainment.

Sad thing is pretty sure ya can't sue the tribe on their soverengn land?

Similiar deal happened to the city of duluth, they let the tribe that owns big bear casino open a casino in downtown duluth, city strikes a deal counting on revenue from this casino,NOT so fastnthe tribe nixed the city and refused to pay taxes on the building to boot as the tribe declared the casino soverengn property..

Gets me so pissed I could smoke a pickel!

Sorry for the vent~~`

I feel the same way.  We sold our soul to the devil when we pussed out on the Tribal BS years ago.  No they didn't have the right to screw us like they are but the chicken sh_t legislatures back then got pay offs and now can't stop taking the bribes and deals under the table.  We used to go to Canterbury once a year for a fun family outing.  NO MORE since it is now another low class indian joint.  Be careful where you stay downtown as the indians have purchased some of those hotels too.  I won't spend a penny in another indian business and I do all I can to educate everyone I know about how we are getting hosed by them.  Just like they are buying up Mille Lacs properties.

I don't spend a single penny in the Indian run ventures in this state, and it absolutely infuriates me to drive by that crappy casino up at Mille Lacs and see rigs with boats and any vehicles for that matter, parked there.  Thanks to the tribe, we have a worthless one fish limit on Mille Lacs, but that sure doesn't stop them from netting the lake every spring.  BS!

Personally I think advanced ticket sales for the Nomadic event were slow to the point where Mystic Lake realized they would lose a ton of money.

So they cancelled the Nomadic contract with a bogus, trumped-up complaint about venue quality and moved the performing acts indoors at the casino.

I do hope they get their  :moon: :moon: :moon: sued and I hope no one bothers to go see the shows.

It was the "sportsmen" and the MN DNR slot limit that wrecked the population structure much more than the native netting.

AND the longer the indians keep the fishing marginal they get better prices on the resorts they buy up.  They are catching more than fish in those nets.

Minnesotans might be nice, but we are also gullible.

The only reason casinos stay open - AND expand - is because we go there.

I'm not pointing the finger at anyone in particular, but in general, we Minnesotans are gullible.

How else can you explain the deal the state made with Indian casinos?  Gullible is the most charitable term I can come up with us.

How many of us believed that we'd pay for U.S. Bank Stadium with "electronic" pull tabs?  Yeah, right.

And why did we need stupid "electronic" pull tabs in the first place?  Because we gave away proceeds from gambling casinos forever!!!  :angry2:

Take the MN Lottery as another example.  Remember when they had us believing that all of the proceeds were going to natural resources when they public support was needed to get the laws passed?  How long did we think that was going to last?

Here is where the funds go now (according to WCCO in 2016).  Almost half to the General Fund!  Gullible?  Yes, for believing them in the first place and also for not holding legislators accountable for diverting the funds.

According to the Minnesota Lottery, each $2 Powerball ticket can be separated out into prizes, administration and money that goes directly to the State. It breaks down as follows:

$1 — Prizes
12 cents — Retailers
4 cents — Vendors
46 cents — Minnesota General Fund
28 cents — Environment and Natural Resources Fund
5 cents — Game and Fish Fund
5 cents — Natural Resources Fund

On the contrary, everyone posting up here takes the time to understand the politics of outdoor-related issues pretty well.  I also happen to believe that reasonable men can disagree about an issue and still respect each others opinions and make positive progress.
