It may be because it's been so warm and dry for so long?

So as we are watching the tube last night I was thinking of this thread when I see the yellow leaves falling off the big ash tree near the house.  Lots of them too.

Even though we have 80's during the day here it has been getting into the 40's some nights.  Feeling like an early fall to me.

Lotsa sweet corn here. It should rain heavily soon, likely a day or two after I cut hay. A little shower going thru town right now actually, enough to make the soybean fields good and soaking wet. Lovely.

It has dried out here tho in general. July was our 1st below normal precip month of the growing season at 3.69" in town and 2.97" at the ranch. Waseca normal at the SROC for July is 4.42". Forecasts are calling for low to mid-80's from Friday thru Tuesday with some increased chances of rain here over the weekend into Monday. It will be sticky and icky.

A couple links. First one is to MN rainfall data thru the Climatology Working Group. The 2nd one is to NOAA's climate prediction center.

Noticed some trees here are starting to drop their leaves too. We have a couple on the other end of the lake that grow & sell sweet corn, talked to them about a month ago & they said around the 1st of August it should be ready. :happy1: We're a little on the dry side too, the yard/ mowing has slowed way down.
