I opened up 2 bait sites on Tuesday and dad checked and refreshed today.  Pulled the trailcam chips and both have been hit.  The one we have used in the past was hit 90 min after baiting.  Dad will bait every day from now until we tag out.  Only concern is we have someone baiting 100 yards off of our property line.  He also bow hunts deer out of the same stand.

At least he affords you the courtesy of saying 100 yards back.  I've seen lots of stands close enough to property lines that you can wiz on the other guy's land from them.

I can see by the trail cam pictures it was a good bear.

I'm at home and he is up north.  He's 76 and has no clue how to send pictures.  Hell, he doesn't even know how to text.

no you cant bait deer, maybe 2 leg....er never mind. watch the DNR CO reports come sept thru dec. there most lucrative ticket.

there's a whole lotta difference between the 2 critters. your success rate of seeing much less harvesting a bear without baiting is slim to none............kinda like boars chance to catch a fish!!!!!!!!!!!

What glennass is trying to say is.. baiting bear is te most effective tool in managing bear. They dont eard, they dont paterern, and have much larger home ranges that ungulates. Spot stalk is ineffective in mn. Hounds are illegal. Their such solatary animals, it the most effect tool for management

I was hit. Didn't clean out the barrell so i added some more goodies to the picnic basket and will check again on monday. I forgot my keys for the lock on the cam box at home, so no pictures yet.

Sure you can bait deer, you just have to be discreet,  plant a food plot, etc.

Checked bait and cam last night. I have 1 little feller coming in during the day and a nice bear coming in at night. The bigger one was coming in at 3 in the morning, now coming in just before 10 pm. Hoping with the competition between the 2 the bigger one starts coming in before dark.

I got these the other day. I have problems with this camera.  Date and time are wrong and also,
it took movies rather than pictures.  Ok, that was my fault.  Anyway, these pictures were pulled
from the movies.  I don't know how to post a movie.

Thanks Repel SS.  I did get the date and time set but had to pull the batteries to get it done. I was hung up in a picture storing sequence.  Next time I pulled the card it only had me walking around the site even though the bait was all gone and a bear had obviously been there.  I plan to put out a different camera tomorrow.

My brother in law won this one at a TIP banquet a couple years ago.  I used it last year and had issues.  Maybe it's just me.
