(ABC 6 News) -Rochester, Minnesota

Witnesses intervened Sunday morning after seeing a woman repeatedly ram a stroller carrying two children into a pole.

Rochester Police was called just before 10 a.m. to the intersection of 2nd Street and Broadway after the woman reportedly walked into traffic with the stroller and was nearly hit by a car.

Witnesses took the kids, a 2-year-old and an infant, until police arrived.

The woman, 26-year-old Beatriz Ortez-Garcia, had a couple of active Olmsted County warrants for theft and assault, according to Rochester Police Captain Casey Moilanen.

Garcia was arrested for child neglect and the outstanding warrants, according to Capt. Moilanaen.

A 29-year-old man, Bobby Cuellar, was with the woman at the time and cited for obstruction.

The children were reportedly taken into the custody of Olmsted County Family Services.

Boy, 9, takes wrong turn on Minnesota 5K race, wins 10K race instead

September 30, 2019

MINNESOTA NEWS, MINNESOTA NEWS FROM THE ASSOCIATED PRESS
SARTELL, Minn. (AP) — It took 9-year-old Kade Lovell longer than expected to finish his 5K race, but only because he was busy accidentally winning a separate 10K race.

Lovell’s mother became worried when he didn’t cross the finish line of the Francis Franny Flyer 5K in Sartell, Minnesota, on Sept. 21. The St. Cloud Times reports she drove along the 5K route looking for him and was “bawling” when no one else saw him, either.

Kade says a woman told him to keep going when he approached the 5K turn so he did, despite his confusion.

Race organizers told Kade’s mother he finished in first place and she thought they meant in his age group. But he was first-place overall. His finished in just over 48 minutes — a minute faster than the 40-year-old second-place contestant.

I know.....that's what I thought...next to Holland's. Still is, out by Charter now. I have no idea what they are talking about....and with some of the reporters here, I don't think they do either. My favorite was the one on the news and in the paper about when they put all the new rock on the river bank by the government center...."Riff-raff"... :rotflmao: :rotflmao:
I had to Email 'em on that and tell' em it's RIP RAP.

Ya, in the gubmint center. Alternate parking, folks! We is a BIG city now!  :afro:

And they say what a great place we are...yet no one can afford to live here anymore. Just read this, and it proves THAT point....:

(from an article tonite in the CAWchester paper about housing here...)

The study also shows 5,500 apartment units have been planned and developed but about only 15% are considered affordable.

Say what????!! :bonk:

I think the French fur-trappers  misinterpreted (typical) the Sioux meaning for this state. "Minisota"...."Sky tinted waters". I believe the correct interpretation was "Sky-tinted creatures"....

Does that include the brain-dead government of this state?!?!

They just hammered on me again today about my Mom's conservatorship finance audit....even though how many times has my attorney sent them the documents from the court approved conservator I appointed?! No wonder;they don't have a clue WTH they're doing, because they don't listen!

Then I saw this!  I'm gonna send an inquiry to them on this!!!!!  :bonk:

(ABC 6 News) -- Eight people are facing riot charges after a riot broke out Thursday night in NW Rochester.

It happened around 10:30 p.m. on the 2000 block of 16 1/2 St. NW.  According to Rochester Police Captain Casey Moilanen, a 20-year-old man and an 18-year-old woman who used to date were arguing. They eventually started to fight physically, when six other people, many of them the woman's friends, came out from a nearby home and began fighting. In total, there were four females and four males ranging in age from 15 to 22.

The man said the woman punched him first and the woman said the man punched her first. Another man said he was hit in the head with a rock.

The woman was seen by a Mayo Clinic Ambulance crew, but was not brought to the hospital. The man who was hit with a rock was also seen by the ambulance crew.

No one was arrested on scene, but police are referring 3rd-degree riot charges to the Olmsted County Attorney's Office against all eight people.
