... After we scored a TD it got boring knowing we wouldn't score again ...

Sounds like just about every regular season game last year.  :doah:  :bonk:

Vikings will be lucky if they win half their games this season.

Lot of folks project more than that.

The defense has to be better - it couldn't be much worse.

And with Jefferson continuing to improve, getting our tight end back, and having a head coach who doesn't hate the QB and kicker - this should lead to an improved offense as well.

I agree and think that just having a coach with a good attitude will make a difference.  I predict 11 wins.

Purple kool-aid drinkers go through the same cycle every year. The Vikes are always great.....until they start playing. Lol

I’m hoping for 5 wins. New coaching staff, new offense, new defense.
It usually takes a couple years.

I've looked through their entire schedule twice and I can't find a loss on it  :happy1:

Interesting.  Cutting from 80 to 53 has to be a tough thing to do.

 https://www.msn.com/en-us/sports/nfl/3-surprise-cuts-the-vikings-could-make-by-week-1/ar-AA111iMZ?ocid=msedgdhp&pc=U531&cvid=869f2b626

Cutting Mattison would not surprise me.  Running backs are not highly valued and "easily" replaced.

Cutting Mond would be a little surprise me a little.  He seems to have more "upside" than Mannion, but if Mond don't get it, maybe he ain't got it.  I'm still thinkin' Mannion is gone.

Cutting Davis would be a surprise.  If one guard goes out with injury, another gets dinged up, and a third one underperforms in games, suddenly Davis is more important.  I think this offensive-minded regime knows the importance of building a strong, deep offensive line.

The label "offensive-minded regime" might be a little early. We have seen zero evidence that the offense will shine. To this point he is a unproven coach much like Minnesota has seen before in Steckle, Brewster & Fleck. All can talk a good game.

Touche.   :swords:

I think most of us are speculating that O'Connell will have a less conservative, more creative offense than Zim did.

How many offensive coordinators did Zimmer go through because they didn't do it the Zim way?

I want to see it (offense) rather than hear about it. If they can't find a way to make Cook, Jefferson, Theilen all equal parts then they are done.

Don't forget about Irv Smith at TE coming back from injury, who was projected to have a break-out offensive season last year before he got hurt.

Interesting 3 choices in that article.....

I think Davis stays......Mond stays and Mannion will go......Mattison is a surprise, Chandler has played well. He is also cheaper than Mattison and has more years left on his rookie contract.
Conservative on some things.....Liberal on others.....Sane most of the time.

Only the best Packers get to be Vikings.

Was watching the Twins game, it went to a rain delay. They switched to the Braves vs Cardinals. Cards walked them off in the 9th 6-5.

So, then I figure WTH I'll check out the Vikings. I have one question............how in the world can you guys listen to that clown Paul Allen? He is getting worse every year. About one series and I switched the channel. If he did every Viking game on TV I would never see another Viking game ever.

The starters better stay healthy, because the backups look pretty pathetic.

I have always concluded the worse they look in the preseason the better they do in the regular season. We will see if my theory is correct.  :rotflmao:
