I'm kinda pumped on watching this year,  especially the defense. They keep saying Kirk will be more aggressive on passing downs but they can write whatever they like, so we'll see. Still, I'll tune in..

Here is some of what the Packer's Press had to say after the game...

Game recap: 5 takeaways from Packers' opening loss to Vikings

Plenty of regrets all around for Green Bay

3. The Packers know it should've been a different game.

Green Bay thought it had answered Minnesota's opening-drive TD on the Packers' first offensive play, but rookie receiver Christian Watson dropped a deep ball for what should've been a 75-yard touchdown.

Later in the first half, running back AJ Dillon got stuffed on a fourth-and-goal from the 1-yard line when the Packers were looking to tie the score at 7.

Those failures were absolutely haunting as the game wore on.

"We had a lot of chances today, not taking anything away from their defense, but we hurt ourselves many times, myself included," quarterback Aaron Rodgers said. "We had a lot of opportunities to score more than seven."

Everyone was fired up about dialing up the deep shot early to showcase the speed of Watson, the second-round pick from North Dakota State. He ran a great route and got well behind the defense, but "he just has to finish the play," LaFleur said.

On the fourth-and-goal, while LaFleur wishes he would've called another play he was thinking about, Rodgers was kicking himself for not improvising. It wasn't part of the run-pass option design, but he believed if he'd pulled the ball back and not handed it off to Dillon, he would've "walked in" for a touchdown on his own.

Instead, Smith crashed down from the outside unblocked and helped hold up Dillon.

"Just trust it," Rodgers lamented.

"I don't really like playing those what-if games, but games usually do come down to a few plays here and there … 14 points and we'd have been right in it."

Fun to make them squirm.  I see the Eagles are favored by 2 in our next game a week from today.

I watched a few of the highlights from the Eagles/Lions game.  Hurts made some good throws, but his rushing was very good.

The Vikings have always struggled with a QB that can scramble/rush for 1st downs.  They better have a good defensive game plan next week.

Everyone can play the "What If Game."

Vikes only had 2 field goals in second half. "What If" they hadn't been ahead
17-0 at half time. They played conservatively and ran the clock. Could they have scored 2 touchdowns instead? Yeah...."What If"

Everything else is just conversation. Like the Packers’ secondary.

Laughable how many times they lost Jefferson in coverage. It was like the Secret Service leaving POTUS behind in a fast-food bathroom.

No real surprise the Vikings were able to move the ball. It was not like O’Connell and Co. inherited the Twins’ bullpen. Cousins, Jefferson, Adam Thielen and Dalvin Cook can wreak havoc any given Sunday.

Conservative on some things.....Liberal on others.....Sane most of the time.

Only the best Packers get to be Vikings.

Home field has always been worth 3 points. So figuring that way the Eagles are a 1/2 point dog at home.

Quirk looked scared crapless playing in the hood.  I started watching food shows and checking back with the Vikes it was so bad.  The announcers were baffled that they never changed the defense even though we were getting picked apart the whole game.  Same ol crap.  To old of D coach.

Ain't that the truth.  One good game, feelin' fat and happy, go out next game and get their  :moon: kicked.

Right on, LPS.  Kapt. Kirk is who we thought he is.  He did have a couple of down-field throws dropped, but most of the night he was Check Down Charlie.  It was like having Christian Ponder all over again.

Football is an emotional game.  Teams build and prepare all week and let it all out on gameday.

Last week the Vikings wanted it more than the Pac.  This week the Eagles wanted it more than the Vikes.
