I'm with Glenn, if he doesn't like his contract let him sit. This other kid they have can run & catch the ball also. Once Hock gets back they all better toe the line if they want to see the ball. There is no shortage of guys on the Vikings who can catch & run.
:happy1: :rotflmao: damn.....has that ever happened before????  dutchy agreeing with me!!!!!

Well ya know.....if you were right more often we would agree more often.   :rotflmao: :rotflmao:

Addison is in the 2nd year of rookie deal which are always for 4 years, the club then has an option year after that. So, he's under team control through the 2026-2027 season. He's not going anywhere IMO. https://www.spotrac.com/nfl/player/_/id/82300/jordan-addison

And Jefferson is under contract until 2028.

Having talent on the roster is a good problem to have.  Deciding when to "pay" a player and if/when to deal 'em is still a problem.

The good news - like you point out - is that the Vikes have a couple of years to see who will stay healthy, who becomes a head case, and who is motivated to be the best - AND to see if McCarthy is going to pan out.

Actually, his contract runs through the 2026-2027 season. So, with the option year he wouldn't be a UFA until after the 2027-2028 season.

 I hope Flores has something special up his sleeve for the next game as Detroit did whatever they wanted against Zimmer's D yday. To be fair, I think they had 6 starters on that side of the ball hurt. Still, I don't think that would've changed things that much. We best be ready!!

I was sure hoping Dallas would put the hurt on Detroit too.  Darn.  I don't often root for Dallas.  LOL  And the Pack won too.  We have a tough division.

So the Vikes have Cam Akers RB back from the Texans.  Hope he doesn't get injured again.  Cost a 2026 6th rd pick I think.

 NFL Network's Tom Pelissero reported Tuesday that the Vikings acquired running back Cam Akers and a 2026 seventh-round pick from the Houston Texans in exchange for a 2026 conditional sixth-round pick.

Per Pelissero, the Vikings acquiring Akers is not due to any long-term concern surrounding Jones, who could play Sunday against the Detroit Lions.

Sure won't hurt to have an extra RB around.  Early in the season yet.

It is amazing sometimes how relatively "little" guys are worth in NFL trades.  We get Akers and a 7th for a 6th?     Seems like the biggest no-brainer in the history of mankind.

I was curious, so I went back in time to see if I recognized the names of any Vikings players from the 6th or 7th rounds over the past 10 years.  I recognized about a quarter of them.

I thought Akers was worth more than that too.  Shows after an injury or two and age really drops their value fast.

The Devante Adams deal seemed "cheap" too, just a third-rounder for a supposed premier receiver (that could become a 2nd-rounder if Devante becomes a pro-bowler or if he is on the team when the Jets go to the AFC championship game.  :rotflmao:)

But the other half of the equations is the Raiders get rid of a malcontent and the Jets have to pick up the rest of his salary.  Who was goona give them more?

Jones's hip problem is now said to be a hamstring injury  & he didn't practice at all yday. Rick Spielman loved to stockpile 6th & 7th Rd picks when he was making trades. Seemed like they did pretty well with those while he was here IMO too.

I just checked and the trade deadline is Nov 5  3 pm Central.  Will be fun to see if Kwesi comes up with a blockbuster.

Yes, "Trader Rick" had that reputation.  I counted 45 6th and 7th round picks he made in his 10 year tenure.  I think there were 16 of them that stayed on the team 3 years or longer.  Who knows how many other 6th and 7th round picks he accumulated and packaged in other trades.

To me Spielman was an average GM.  He caught lightning in a bottle a couple of times, but it wasn't if he built a winning team that was a threat to make a run at the superbowl several years running.  But that wasn't all his fault either.  Injuries and coaches can derail the best of plans.

I don't know about a blockbuster as they're kind of short draft picks next season the way it is now. Rumor is that they could still get some a pick, maybe 2, for losing Hunter & Cousins this season. I did see 1 that said he wouldn't be surprised to see 'em add some depth to the DL, especially NT, at the deadline though.

Cashman is out, turf toe, so Pace will slide over to his spot & call the signals on defense. Grugier-Hill will then play Paces' spot, just like he did when Pace missed a couple games. They then activated Bo Richter off the practice squad for today's game as well. As a result, the Vikes worked out 3 veteran LB's yday to see if they want to sign any of them to the practice squad for some added depth. https://www.yardbarker.com/nfl/articles/report_vikings_work_out_longtime_nfl_starting_linebackers_rashaan_evans_deion_jones/s1_16715_41086052

I remember a few years ago when Hitman Harry had turf toe.  It took him a while to shake it too.
